The future of TikTok is looming and users on the streaming platform are reportedly planning to spam YouTube on March 25. According to Forbes, TikTok user, @priveden2 appeared to be the source of the momentum and claimed that YouTube shorts are filled with, "dead internet theory " and "dead memes from months ago." They added,

“We could turn YouTube Shorts into a genuinely good platform. The first order of business is making YouTube Shorts silly again. We just absolutely need to flood YouTube Shorts with current brainrot, and then eventually, everyone will catch on.”

Another TikToker, @leepicdude96 asked his followers to join arms and called the momentum,

"YouTube Shorts colonization March 25th."

While it is unclear if users will flood YouTube shorts, the former appears to be experiencing a content "drought." DramaAlert took to its X channel to share the alleged plan to spam YouTube shorts.

Users took to the comment section to share their views. One user (@Bonniehartxo) added humorously,

"TikTok vs. YouTube Shorts is getting wild. Can’t wait to see the chaos unfold!"

Another user (@VKay69420) dropped a sarcastic comment,

"Huge day for the unemployed."

One user suggested a way to avoid watching the "brain rot" content and noted,

"If you don't watch garbage on YouTube then your algorithm won't show it."

One netizen (@0xkeeny) appeared to be curious about the potential plan and wrote,

"Interesting to see this development unfold. I think it's worth exploring the reasons behind this 'colonization' attempt. Is it a matter of creators seeking more freedom or are there other factors at play?"

Another user (@Lapla21) added that the plan may not go as decided and noted,

"If they had ever used YouTube Shorts in their life they’d know it was already full of brainrot content so I’m not going to notice a difference."

It is unclear if TikTokers' alleged plan to spam "brain rot" content on YouTube Shorts will happen on March 25. In addition, users also face the ambiguity of the app being banned in the US. The app was banned on the Supreme Court's order for a short duration on January 17. Donald Trump put the ban on hold for 75 days on executive orders.

Meanwhile, ByteDance, which owns the app has reportedly been asked to consider selling the streaming app to a US-based entity. The move comes in light of concerns about data privacy and national security. It is unclear if the deadline will be extended on April 5 or if the app will experience a nationwide ban.

TikTokers are allegedly planning to change or take control of the content on YouTube shorts. Many users humorously responded to the suggestion, while some expressed their curiosity. The alleged plan comes before a potential nationwide ban on the channel. However, the future remains undecided and depends on ByteDance's decision.
