It's clear from Kanye West's latest statement that the rapper is fond of Drake. Kanye West shared a tweet on X on March 5, writing:

"I SAW A VIDEO OF DRAKE WALKING THROUGH HIS HOUSE AND SHOWING HE HAD A LIBRARY OF RYHME BOOKS MAN I WISH I COULD HAVE SEEN AND REMEMBERED THIS WHEN MY JEALOUSY OVERTOOK ME …"

The rapper further expressed his love by writing:

"I LOVE DRAKE IMA SAY THIS WHEN I DIE I NEED YOU TO SPEAK AT ME FUNERAL"

The tweet implied that Kanye West was once jealous of Drake for an unknown reason. He said seeing Drake’s library of rhyme books changed his perspective. As of now, he admires Drake, and he even wants him to speak at his funeral.

Ye has now deleted the tweet from his X account.

Kanye West directed Drake’s 'Best I Ever Had' music video in 2009. They also worked together on the Forever song. However, their friendship started taking a turn when Drake hinted at wanting to surpass Kanye, especially in his 2011 song I'm On One. In the song, he referenced Kanye and Jay-Z's album Watch the Throne.

Later, Pusha T accused Drake of using Quentin Miller as the writer of Infrared in 2018. Drake replied by dissing both Pusha and Kanye. Pusha T soon dropped The Story of Adidon, revealing Drake had a secret son. Drake blamed Kanye for leaking the information, but Pusha later said it came from Drake’s producer, Noah "40" Shebib.

Meanwhile, Kanye West also apologized to Drake for dropping the album at the same time. Later, at a meet, when Drake liked one of Kanye's beats, Kanye let Drake believe he could have a beat he wanted but then kept it for himself. Later, Kanye accused Drake of dissing him on Sicko Mode and claimed Drake threatened his family.

Drake insulted Kanye in Betrayal, one of his songs in 2021. In response, Kanye posted Drake’s home address but later deleted it. A few days later, Kanye released Donda, and Drake released Certified Lover Boy. However, Drake's album got more recognition than Ye's, leading to more sales.

In November, Kanye apologized, and soon they ended their fight. The two were also seen together on many occasions supporting each other.

Even after solving their complicated friendship, Drake took small jabs at Kanye in his 2022 song Circo Loco. In 2023, the Canadian rapper used a clip of Kim Kardashian talking about her divorce. Later, he also called Kanye’s past apologies fake. Kanye West finally responded in 2024 with a remix of Like That, dissing Drake and J. Cole.

The new tweet by Ye adds another twist to his complicated love-and-hate relationship with Drake, showing admiration toward the rapper.

Drake has not responded to Kanye West's latest tweet about him yet. He also released a collaborative album with PARTYNEXTDOOR in 2025, titled "$ome $exy $ongs 4 U."
