However, from a vasectomy reversal to experiencing a chemical pregnancy, the couple has had their share of ups and downs before this fourth pregnancy.

Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Lauren Burnham's love story explored

Arie Luyendyk Jr. is a former race car driver. He first gained fame as the runner-up on The Bachelorette Season 8, People Magazine reports. He made headlines in The Bachelor Season 22 when he proposed to Becca Kufrin to break off the engagement and reunite with his runner-up, Lauren Burnham.

The controversial decision led to criticism, reports suggest. However, they tied the knot in Hawaii in 2019 and have since welcomed three children along the way. Now, five years after their wedding, the couple is preparing for another addition to their family.

For Arie, the decision to have another child required a medical step: reversing his vasectomy. Initially, after the birth of their twins, Arie had opted for the procedure. People Magazine reports that he shared in a statement,

"As you guys know, I got the vasectomy after the twins were born, and ever since then, I don't know, I think I rushed it. Honestly, it's more on me. I think having the twins was hard at first."

He added,

"And then I kind of remember a moment of watching Senna, and she's like...all of our kids are like the best age right now. And I just felt like, 'Dang it, I think we could do this again.'"

Lauren also revealed that she experienced a chemical pregnancy, which is an early miscarriage that occurs before the fifth week, a People Magazine report suggests.

Shedding some light on the matter, Lauren Burnham stated to People,

"We tried and tried. And we were unsuccessful for a little bit and then we had a chemical pregnancy. I’ve never had a chemical pregnancy before, so I thought that was it. Like we were actually pregnant. And I surprised Arie for the first time ever, because that was his one request for our last pregnancy was that I surprise him in a cute way because I always just tell him immediately because I can’t keep secrets."

Despite the setbacks, the couple remained hopeful. Now, the fourth baby's arrival in September 2025 will make them a family of six.
