Kick, a live streaming platform commonly known as the competitor to Amazon's Twitch, has recently come up with significant changes in their creator partnership program.
Kick CEO and co-founder Edward Craven recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce their changes. In the clip from the episode of the Kick Talk stream, Eddie says that KCIP (Kick Creator Incentive Program), a program that financially rewards streamers for their content, will now be called Kick Partner.
He went on to say:
''You are a partner of Kick the moment you are on KCIP… We will be making the requirements for people who wish to enter KCIP, significantly more attainable.''
According to these changes, streamers will now be able to earn money quickly and easily.
What are the changes made to the Kick platform?
On March 14, 2025, Kick's X handle posted that Kick's upcoming 36th episode has a big announcement. They captioned it:
''trust, you don’t wanna miss this one.''
This announcement was enough to cause thrill and excitement among the streamers. Next, during the episode, Eddie revealed all the changes that would be happening on the platform. Regarding the changes, he said:
''Path to Affiliate becomes Path to Creator, Path to Verification, which is the checkmark, this remains relatively similar. Parth to partner, this is coming down to something again a little more reasonable.''
He continued:
''No longer calling it this mysterious KCIP, but calling it a partnership because that it what it is. It is a partnership between Kick and between you and your community and solidifying that partnership and making it official.''
In the episode, Eddie explained the three tiers of the new program. He explained the changes made to Path to Creator, Path to Verification, and Path to Partner.
According to the new requirement under Path to Creator, streamers now only have to stream for 5 hours and turn on their subscriptions.
With regards to Path to Verification, to get verified now, the streamers would require 10 subscribers, 50 average viewers, 100 unique chatters, and streaming for 15 hours.
And, for Path to Partners, where streamers can get complete monetization benefits. The new requirements include 25 subscribers, 75 average viewers, 30 hours streamed, 250 unique chatters, and 250 followers.
With the above changes in the requirements, streamers can now make money quickly, get verified easily, and follow simple steps to unlock monetization. These changes also open doors of opportunity for small and mid-sized streamers.
On March 16, 2025, Andrew Santamaria, the Head of Strategic Partnerships at Kick, took to his X account, where he gave a full breakdown of the old and new requirements in his post.
Kick began in 2022, and these changes will make the platform much more appealing to streamers, given that its competitor Twitch has strict rules. These are most likely to lure Twitch streamers since Kick will be offering easier monetization and growth opportunities.
