"He’s scared, it’s an excuse": KSI postpones fight with Dillon Danis

YouTube star turned boxer KSI opted out of a scheduled fight with Dillon Danis, citing serious health issues. Olajide Olatunji aka. KSI was originally scheduled to face Danis, a jiu-jitsu competitor and a former MMA fighter, on March 29, 2025. However, KSI announced on his social media channels that he wasn’t fit to face Danis. The video shared on the YouTube sensation’s account sees him in a sickbed as he details his health struggles:

"I've tried my hardest, but my body has legit just given up. I’m coughing up greenish-yellow stuff all the time. My sinuses are hurting to the point where I need ibuprofen every day."

He continued:

'My stamina's fallen off a cliff; I can't even taste right now or smell. Basically, I'm f***ed. I've been ill for almost three weeks, and it's just not better."

Danis reposted KSI's health update video with the caption, "I remember my first cold."

Fans highly anticipated the match between the duo, given the history of rivalry, social media provocations, and taunts between the two men. KSI and Danis had their first match fixed in January 2023, but plans fell through when Danis pulled out 10 days before. The Jiu-jitsu artist spoke with Daily Mail after KSI announced his health issues. He dismissed his opponent’s claims as an excuse to avoid losing the match:

"He’s scared, it’s an excuse,' Danis said. 'I’ve been battling worse. I had my ticket to Manchester, which was ready, and he bottled it. I feel bad for the fans.'

The promoters of the event, Misfits, also updated fans on the recent happenings and confirmed that the match was postponed due to KSI’s health issue:

"Due to an illness to KSI, Misfits Boxing Unfinished Business, scheduled for March 29th in Manchester, has been delayed. Further updates, including a new date, will be provided next week. All tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled event."

Danis, whilst expressing disbelief in KSI's recent health struggles, called out the YouTuber for playing in the Sidemen Charity match at Wembley Stadium:

"Played in a full charity soccer match 2 weeks ago but has been 'sick for 3 weeks."

While KSI hasn’t replied to Danis’ accusations yet, he has expressed willingness to fight the latter once his health improves:

“I still wanna move the fight to another day because, you know, I still wanna knock out Dillon Danis.”
