Daphne Oz's daughter, Philomena Jovanovic, recently fainted during her grandfather, Dr. Mehmet Oz's swearing-in ceremony at Donald Trump’s Oval Office. Daphne thanked Trump in a social media post for taking good care of Philomena and her other children.
In a post shared on Instagram on April 20, 2025, she wrote:
“Thank you to everyone checking in on Philo after her big day in the Oval Office. We are so grateful it was nothing serious, and she bounced right back — with a trip for some delicious Navy Mess soft serve for good measure!!”
Expressing her gratitude for the US president, Daphne Oz added:
“Thank you to the incredible White House team and medical staff who were so kind to her. Most of all, thank you to President Trump who went out of his way to make both our children feel comfortable in a stressful situation.”
She added,
“He was exceedingly warm, caring and generous as he spent personal time with each of them at the Resolute Desk and gifted them treasures to take home. A more than memorable day at the White House for all of us!!”
Daphne’s father, Dr. Oz was sworn in as CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) Administrator.

Dr. Mehmet Oz's swearing-in ceremony as President Donald Trump’s administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services was interrupted at the White House on April 18, 2025, when his granddaughter, Philomena Jovanovic, suddenly fainted in the middle of Trump’s remarks.
A video of the same has gone viral on social media, where his daughter, Daphne Oz could be heard shouting,
“Philo fainted, Philo fainted. Dad, go!”
"Press out, everybody out! Thank you, press. Get out right now,"
A White House official can be heard in the video, asking the press to leave the Oval office.
According to a report in Entertainment Weekly, members of the press were immediately rushed out of the Oval Office as family members and the staff addressed the emergency.
Speaking to People Magazine, a White House representative shared an update about Philomena’s health and said:
"A minor family member fainted during Dr. Oz’s swearing in ceremony in the Oval Office. We are happy to say she is okay."
Daphne Oz and her husband John Jovanovic share four children: daughters Giovanna Ines, Domenica Celine, and Philomena 'Philo' Bijou, and son Jovan.
64-year-old Dr. Oz shares four kids, including Daphne, 39, Arabella Oz, 34, Zoe Oz, 28, and son Oliver Oz, 25, with wife Lisa Oz, as per a report in E! News.
Daphne is their eldest child, whom they welcomed in February 1986. She followed in her father’s footsteps and went on to host the cooking show The Chew for seven seasons from 2011 to 2017. She made her debut as a judge on MasterChef Junior in 2022.
