"Have some patience. TOUR is locked in": DJ Akademiks updates fans after NBA YoungBoy's release

DJ Akademiks has been giving continuous updates on NBA YoungBoy's release. The live streamer and podcaster shared an update on March 24, showing NBA YoungBoy's new release date, which was shifted from April to March 24. The caption of the post said,

"Looks like NBA YOUNGBOY has been released from federal prison and either transferred to a half way house or is headed home. I’ll confirm soon."

Akademiks uploaded a new tweet on March 25, giving further updates on the situation by adding,

"Talked to OG 3Three… NBA Youngboy is home spending time w family. Has a curfew for 30 days and has to stay at certain location (NO DOX). Have some patience. TOUR is locked in. YB fans get ready. Give him some time though. Well give u more info when available. 2025. YB."

His statement gave hints at NBA YoungBoy's tour while he asked his fans to be patient for more details. Kentrell will be under a 30-day curfew as per Akademiks.


DJ Akademiks previous updates on NBA YoungBoy

DJ Akademiks first hinted at Kentrell DeSean Gaulden's release at Adin Ross' Brand Risk 005 boxing event that took place on March 15. Along with taking Drake and Playboi Carti's names when asked about music industry updates, the DJ added,

"YB’s getting out of jail."

Soon after, Akademiks made an official statement on his social media accounts, stating that NBA YoungBoy was being released on April 26. However, YoungBoy's release date later shifted from April 26 to March 24, which Akademiks shared on March 24.

NBA YoungBoy will reportedly have to follow the below restrictions after his release:

  • Drug/Alcohol Tests: Must take up to six tests per month.
  • Mental Health: Must complete mental health treatment and take prescribed medication.
  • Gang Contact: Avoid associating with gangs unless specifically approved.
  • Materials: Not allowed to possess any gang-related materials.
  • Tattoos: Prohibited from having tattoos linked to gang affiliations.
  • Clothing: Must avoid wearing clothing associated with gangs.

NBA member OG 3Three welcomes NBA YoungBoy

The Never Broke Again (NBA) member, Rodrick "OG3Three" Jeanpierre, welcomed NBA YoungBoy after his release. The rapper uploaded an Instagram post on March 24, featuring NBA YoungBoy with the caption,

"UHHHHHH OHHHHH MY 💚💚💚 is finally back home #AllGloryToGod no more #FreeTop #HeHome 🙌🏾 #Blessed @nba_youngboy"

The label, NBA, was founded in 2015 by Kentrell Gaulden, Rodrick "OG 3Three" Jeanpierre, and Kyle "Montana" Claiborne.


NBA YoungBoy has been reportedly transferred to his home in Salt Lake City, Utah. The singer also released his album More Leaks on March 7, featuring 20 tracks with no collaborations. The rapper is yet to give the final confirmation of the tour and dates.
