Model Remi Bader was a recent guest on Khloe Kardashian’s Khloe In Wonder Land podcast on March 27, 2025. The discussion touched on self-worth, heartbreak, and the reality behind her body transformation.
Remi opened up about dealing with online criticism, her healing journey, and combating online criticisms. However, one of the topics that she discussed was her weight-loss journey. Bader considered bariatric surgery after weight loss medications like Ozempic didn’t work for her. Social media users criticized her for her revelations during the podcast.
“Remi bader flat out denying WLS when people commented about it on her social media, and only admitting to it when she can monetize it, is insane work....good job lying to the followers you built because you were "real",” one X user commented.
“Remi Bader getting all of her following because she was a plus size and body positive content creator to only admit now she got weight loss surgery but was blocking everyone and anyone who mentioned it to her and was acting like she lost all her weight naturally … oh Remi,” a netizen reacted.
Meanwhile, a few netizens defended her, saying her narrative was nothing different.
“I think most plus size influencers end up getting the surgery or the shot—we’ve seen it happen time and time again. Remi Bader is no different, I don’t understand the shock lol,” another social media user shared.
“Remi bader not wanting to share she got a weight loss surgery with her followers after her comments being flooded in every video over a year harassing her about her weight loss.. now that she finally speaks out everyone is mad because she’s lost weight for her physical health?” a person defended her.
Remi Bader reflects on her recovery from body image struggles
The recovery was far more difficult than she expected. Even after spending hours in the recovery room, she continued to struggle for six weeks. Her reaction, which the doctor said was rare for this type of surgery, left her questioning her decision.
She recalled feeling extremely unwell and regretting the procedure, fearing she had made a mistake that permanently affected her body. Following the surgery, she said:
“I couldn't leave the hospital. I couldn't swallow water, I was like projectile vomiting like I was just like it I they don't let you leave if you don't can't drink water, I was so sick I was in recovery for hours after like in the recovery room but then that went on for 6 weeks.”
Remi Bader explained that many people don’t understand the timeline of her experience, which is why it took her so long to open up. She went from undergoing surgery to struggling with severe depression, and just as she started to come out of it, she also dealt with a breakup.
She has always been open about her struggles with body image but also advocated for confidence at any size. Despite her personal challenges, she still believes that people in larger bodies can be happy and healthy and that no one can judge someone’s health just by looking at them.
