Controversial streamer Rammy Khalid Ismael, aka Johnny Somali, has been on the radar of the South Korean police since his lewd and contentious live-streaming activities in September 2024. His latest encounter with the police saw the 24-year-old screaming and asking them to get away from him.
The streamer, who is banned on Twitch and Kick, was live-streaming in an elevator when two police officers approached him. @johnnysosmally, on April 26, 2025, shared a 139-second video of Johnny Somali’s interaction with the police.
The footage shows two police officers approaching Somali, and after asking him to calm down and keep his voice down, he becomes even more agitated:
"What do you want? I'm YouTube live. I'm calm down. (Police officer tells the streamer to 'calm down.') I'm calmed down! What the hell do you want from me, n***a? I'm calm. I swear to god, I told you all n****s. What do you want from me? What?! I'm calm! My house, I go to my house! I'm calm. I go home! I go home now! Now I go home?"
The streamer was heading towards his home when he noticed a police officer was still following him and confronted the latter:
"Why are you following me? Why? What do you want? What do you want?! What?! Go away from me! N***a, go away! N***a, go away, n***a! What do you want?! My face. Go away! Okay, go, go! Okay, bye-bye! Okay! Go away! Go! I go my house, don't look. Look that way! Okay, look that way! Don't look! This one, don't look! Turn! Password. No, turn, turn!"
Johnny Somali is facing charges of business obstruction and offenses regarding minors in a South Korean court
Johnny Somali was arrested in late 2024 after his controversial live-streaming activities in South Korea in September. The controversial streamer, in September 2024, visited Lotte World and broadcast a speech that allegedly suggested inappropriate behavior towards children.
He sparked public outrage when he reportedly live-streamed kissing and twerking around the revered Statue of Peace on October 9. In a subsequent video, Somali referred to the statue again and seemed to suggest that he would perform a se**al act with it.
He appeared at a convenience store and reportedly harassed an employee there. On October 30, Somali was banned from leaving South Korea.
Later, he allegedly streamed a deepfake video of himself kissing a popular Korean streamer, Bong Bong_irl. The victim reported the incident to the police but did not press charges.
Johnny Somali pleaded guilty in March 2025 to three charges, including obstruction of business and violations of the Minor Offences Act. If found guilty, he faces up to 10 years in prison with labor and a huge penalty.
