Chrissy Teigen talks about people-pleasing and parenting, says she is "scared of passing this along to my kids"

Chrissy Teigen has opened up about her ongoing struggles with people pleasing on the recent episode of her new Audible podcast titled, Self-Conscious.

The 39-year-old took to her Instagram account to share a snippet from the episode on February 28, 2025. She wrote in the caption,

“Tbh, my lexapro doesn’t really allow me to cry too much these days. I still feel things *deeply* but something has to really break through to get them out.”

In the clip which was from her podcast, Teigen reflected on her life and how several instances left an indelible mark on her when she was growing up.

“I see how much my interactions with adults as a child affected me, from so many different layers.” She said.
“Whether it was s*xual, or the reason I became such a people pleaser.” She was scared that it still has a hold on her now. “So I cannot imagine this for my kids” she added.

According to People magazine, she shared that she is really,

“scared of passing this along to my kids. I think that is the big realization for me is, I can't do this to my kids.”

Who are the kids of Chrissy Teigen and John Legend?

Chrisy Teigen has been married to her husband John Legend since September 14, 2013. They tied the knot in a private ceremony in Lake Como, Italy.

The couple share four kids - Luna Simone Stephens (8), Miles Theodore Stephens (6), Esti Maxine Stephens (2), and Wren Alexander Stephens (nearly 7 months), according to the report in Elle magazine.

Luna Simone Stephens

The couple welcomed their first child, their daughter, Luna Simone in April 2016. She took to Instagram to announce the news and wrote,

"She's here! Luna Simone Stephens, we are so in love with you! And sleepy. Very sleepy."

Speaking about the meaning behind her name Teigen told Ellen on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2018 that her name, Luna is inspired by her love for space. And her middle name is a tribute to the legendary singer, Nina Simone, as per a report in Parade. As per People magazine, she turned 8 in 2024.

Miles Theodore Stephens

He is the second child and the first son born to Chrissy Teigen and John Legend. They welcomed him on May 16, 2018. According to Parade, their son’s name too has a musical history related to it as he is named after the great Miles Davis. As for his middle name it was chosen by his mom. According to fans they believe that the father and son share a striking resemblance and are twins, as reported by People magazine.

Esti Maxine Stephens

They welcomed their third child and the second daughter on January 13, 2023. Teigen announced on her Instagram as she shared a photo of Miles and Luna holding their baby sister.

“She's here! Esti Maxine Stephens - the house is bustling and our family could not be happier.” She turned 2 this year.

Reportedly, the couple experienced a miscarriage in 2020 with their son, Jack in 2020.

Wren Alexander Stephens

They welcomed their fourth baby and second son on June 19, 2023, through surrogacy. They gave a tribute to their surrogate Alexandra by giving him a middle name Alexander.

In an Instagram, she explained how she always wanted to have four kids but due to her fertility issues she wasn’t able to bear anymore so they decided to go through IVF to conceive Esti and welcomed Wren via surrogacy.

Teigen is currently busy with her recently launched podcast titled, Self-Conscious with Chrissy Teigen which was launched on January 9, 2025, on Audible, as reported by People magazine.
