CDawgVA recently completed his fourth Cyclethon in Japan, and the significant charity event raised $1,069,561 for the Immune Deficiency Foundation (IDF). The success of CDawgVa's fundraising for research on immunodeficiencies is in part due to his friendship with IronMouse, who has been vocal about her struggles with the disease.
The immunodeficiency disease eats away at the body's ability to fight infections and requires lifelong treatment in some cases, with the disease having no cure as of now. CDawgVA has been a regular contributor to these charitable events, having started his first Cyclethon in 2021. He has now contributed a staggering total of $3,834,464.46 through his charitable endeavors.
The news was met with great fanfare on social media as fans applauded his generous humanitarian efforts:
"Man has no idea he's an absolutely awesome person, he's just helping out a friend. I hope he never changes", commented one fan.
"I have no idea what's going on, and who those person are. But damn. Raising this much money to make another person's life less harsh with medecine. It's nice. They're nice.", lauded another.
"Man such a massive W never have i had such respect for a internet personality like before", wrote another fan.
"Proud of CDawg for real that takes a lot of spirit to push through and do", praised yet another fan.
The reactions didn't stop there as fans basked in the glory of CDawgVA's astonishing achievements:
"10x more than Creator Clash in all iterations and at 1% of the cost. Neato", quipped one fan.
"Interviewer: So how's the charity going? Cdawg: Helping a friend, spreading awareness of a not well known disease, getting more people involved in the cause, biking around Japan basking in scenery and "it's a great way to stay in shape", another fan chimed in.
"Some people would travel to the ends of the earth for their friends, he’s living proof of that statement", praised another.
CDawgVA's Cyclethon events through the years
This wasn't CDawgVA's first stab at charity, he has been doing this for a long time. Cyclethon 4 was a great success, and as per Dexerto, also had special guests like PewDiePie and Abroad in Japan (Chris Broad) joining sections of the ride, which added to the entertainment value.
CDawagVA raised about $900,000 through his first couple of Cyclethons, and fresh off a major milestone back then, he had spoken about the goal that he wanted to achieve with the charitable events. In an interview conducted in 2023, he had declared his lofty ambitions :
“I want to raise at least a million dollars a year for charity.”
It's safe to say that he is way ahead of schedule, now that he is raising that much money in just one event.
In the interview, he also spoke of his friendship with IronMouse, who has been a source of inspiration for him:
“Having someone you can rely on who’s genuinely a great friend and an awesome person has really helped me and my content. And she’s such a talented creator in her own right. So, being able to work with someone you get on with so well, they’re fun, they’re making you laugh, and they’re also such a talented streamer in their own right. I’m so fortunate to be able to be friends with someone who’s so talented and allows me to improve my own content."
"I’m always there trying to pick her up and give her more confidence in herself. It’s been great. I don’t think anyone on earth would say she doesn’t deserve the success she’s gotten, and I hope she continues to keep getting it. She’s a very talented creator who’s had a lot of roadblocks in life. It’s a really amazing story, I think. She’s so inspiring, even to me."
CDawgVA has taken up the mantle of raising awareness for the immunodeficiency diseases through his platform, and in the process, he has surpassed the expectations of his own as well as those fans. The best aspect of CDawgVA's Cyclethon series is that every penny goes towards IDF for research purposes, and the event is growing at a great pace every year.
