AI-generated fake video of Trump and Musk briefly appears on HUD monitors, sparks investigation

A fake AI-generated video of Donald Trump and Elon Musk appeared on the TV screens of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) headquarters on February 24. The video showed Donald Trump kissing Elon Musk's feet with the caption "LONG LIVE THE REAL KING" on top of the video.

Trump made Elon Musk an advisor to the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) with a temporary government role in December 2024. In February 2025, a court document said Musk is not the head of DOGE and has no real power. Later, Trump said Musk was in charge of DOGE, but it's still unclear who officially runs DOGE. Currently, Musk is an advisor to President Donald Trump.

The caption "LONG LIVE THE REAL KING" coincided with the post uploaded by the White House on February 20 on X with the caption:

"CONGESTION PRICING IS DEAD. Manhattan, and all of New York, is SAVED. LONG LIVE THE KING!" –President Donald J. Trump

Government to investigate the source of the AI-generated video of Musk and Trump

An X user, @krassenstein, uploaded the tweet on February 24, with the caption:

"WOW! This actually just happened! The Monitors were just hacked at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to display an AI video of Trump licking Elon Musk’s toes. The caption over it read: “LONG LIVE THE REAL KING.”"

The tweet showed the AI-generated video of Donald Trump and Elon Musk, which was played repeatedly at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) headquarters. The AI video also showed Elon Musk with two left feet, proving it was computer-generated.

The screens were soon turned off manually, stopping the video from playing any further.

The source of the AI video showing Trump and Musk is not yet known. However, the government is investigating whether it was done by hackers or insiders.

Kasey Lovett, the head of public affairs of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, also said that taxpayer money was wasted, and those responsible will face consequences.
