Sean "Diddy" Combs, the entrepreneur and hip-hop tycoon, has encountered multiple charges of s*xual misdeed since late 2023. The controversy started when his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, sued him for physical and s*xual abuse.

Although the lawsuit was settled quickly; it set off a wave of similar allegations. As more claims occurred, law enforcement officers launched federal inquiries into possible misconduct and trafficking.

In early 2024, authorities raided Diddy's properties; marking a considerable escalation in the case. He has unfailingly denied all allegations, calling them baseless and defamatory.

Below is a timeline of major evolutions in the legal battle.

Cassie's November 2023 lawsuit triggered a series of new allegations

On November 16, 2023, Cassie Ventura filed a case against Diddy, alleging he subjected her to physical and s*xual abuse during their connection.

According to Billboard, the complaint detailed examples of coercion and violence.

Although the case was settled within 24 hours, it initiated a chain reaction. Just a week later, another woman, identified as "Jane Doe" sued Diddy; accusing him of assaulting her in 1991 when she was 17 years old. By December 2023, a third woman came forward; filing a suit for an alleged assault in the early 2000s.

Federal agents raided Diddy's real estate holdings in March 2024 as investigations mounted

As the investigations amplified, federal agencies raided Diddy's residences in Los Angeles and Miami in March 2024. Authorities seized documents and electronic instruments as part of their investigation into trafficking and abuse allegations, according to Rolling Stone.

By April 2024, multiple civil lawsuits had been filed, each covering different periods and allegations. Law enforcement resumed collecting witness declarations, and speculation about probable criminal charges grew stronger.

Legal action escalated in the latter part of 2024 with a grand jury indictment and several new allegations

In September 2024, a grand jury was summoned to examine the charges. Billboard informed that Diddy had been federally indicted on accusations of s*x trafficking and racketeering, marking a key moment in the case.

By October 2024, attorney Tony Buzbee declared he was portraying more than 120 individuals charging Diddy of s*xual misdeed, Al Jazeera reported. These lawsuits extended beyond the initial cases; presenting important legal and public relations challenges for the hip-hop magnate.

The allegations have had a lasting impact on Diddy's career and public image

Since the initial lawsuit, Diddy has suffered a series of setbacks. Major businesses have distanced themselves from him; streaming platforms have limited access to his music. His business happenings, particularly in music and fashion, have also taken a hit.

Despite his replicated denials, Diddy has been unable to exit the reputational and legal fallout. In December 2023, he handled the accusations on Instagram; commenting:

"Sickening allegations have been made against me by individuals looking for a quick payday. Let me be absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged," Billboard reports.

Diddy remains under federal investigation and faces numerous lawsuits. Although he has not been convicted; the charges have greatly impacted his career and public image. The case is still unfolding, and consequences are expected in the forthcoming months.

While Diddy continues to reject the allegations; calling them untrue and financially motivated, law enforcement agencies persist in their investigations. Whether he will face additional charges or clear his name stays doubtful.
