Mr. Beast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, recently commented about President Donald Trump’s tariff policies in a post on the social media platform X.
On April 8, 2025, the YouTuber took to X to slam Trump in a series of tweets. About his line of “Feastables” chocolate bars, he pointed out that the 20%+ tariffs on goods in the US makes it more expensive than production abroad. He wrote:
“Ironically because of all the new tariffs it is now way cheaper to make our chocolate bars we sell globally NOT in America because other countries don’t have a 20%+ tariff on our cogs.”
He added,
“Btw we pay our farmers a living income, use fair trade certified beans, etc. so I was already spending a lot on cocoa. A random price hike was pretty brutal ngl. We’ll figure it out. I feel for small businesses though. Could really be a nail in the coffin for them.” He feared how the hike in the prices are largely affected by this move.
According to CBS News, small businesses account for almost half of all private-sector employment in the U.S. They are highly vulnerable as they don’t have the deep cash reserves or flexibility to bear the changes in the economy. This isn’t the first time he has stirred the internet with his statement.
What did Mr. Beast say when he expressed his wish to run for president of the country?
YouTuber MrBeast left the internet divided when he made a controversial remark during Donald Trump’s presidential campaign in 2024.
According to a report in Newsweek, he said he would run for president if the U.S. Constitution lowered the age in a tweet posted on X in July 2024.
“If we lower the age to run for president I’ll jump in the race.” He wrote
Reportedly, the minimum age to run for president in the United States is 35 years old, while the YouTuber was 26 years old during the time he made the comment. His post received about 30+ million views. Some inquired if he would still make YouTube videos if elected as the president, to which he replied:
“I’d probably focus on running the largest economy on earth.”

Others supported his idea and told him that he would make a better president than Joe Biden and Trump.
Donaldson has been ranked as the highest-earning content creator in the world by Forbes magazine. He has more than 380 million subscribers. His recent venture into the chocolate business generated about $250 million in sales and more than $20 million in profit last year, according to a report in Bloomsberg.
As per a press release, Feastables was launched in January 2022. It first introduced a gluten-free chocolate in the market known as the MrBeast Bar. The chocolate came in three flavors, including Original Chocolate, Almond Chocolate, and Quinoa Crunch Chocolate.
The 26-year-old YouTuber recently took to his Instagram to share the news of his engagement with his fans and followers. He got engaged to his long-time girlfriend, Thea Booysen, on Christmas in 2024.
"My family flew out from South Africa for Christmas and we were going to do Christmas in our house so both families were here. We were opening presents, and then for the very last present he asked me to close my eyes because it was a surprise," His fiancée told People magazine.
"I intentionally dropped a large box to make noise before presenting the real gift — with the ring inside — to her. And then I went down on a knee and proposed," Mr. Beast added.
On April 6, 2025, he flexed his “beautiful” fiancé to his followers when the two attended the red carpet event at the 2025 Breakthrough Prize Ceremony. He met Booysen, a fellow gamer, in South Africa through a mutual friend, reported the outlet.
