Guns N’ Roses has announced Isaac Carpenter as their new drummer. The news follows the departure of their former drummer, Frank Ferrer, who worked for nearly two decades with the band.

In a post shared on March 21, 2025, Guns N’ Roses took to their Instagram account to make the announcement. They posted a picture of their new addition to the band along with a caption, which read:

“Welcoming Isaac Carpenter as the new drummer of Guns N’ Roses.”

According to a report in the New York Post, born in Tri-Cities, Washington, Carpenter is known for his work in alternative and hard rock genres in music. The musical journey of the 45-year-old drummer began when he co-founded the group Loudermilk while he was in high school in 1995.

He has collaborated with a bevy of artists, including GNR bassist Duff McKagan's Loaded, Awolnation, Adam Lambert, The Barbarians of California, A Perfect Circle, The Exies, Ours, and Black Lab.

His arrival comes after Ferrer’s exit from the band after 19 years, who reported joining the band in 2006. Here is everything we know about him.

Guns N’ Roses announced the exit of their drummer, Frank Ferrer in an Instagram post shared on March 19, 2025. The first picture featured the band members with him standing with their backs facing the camera as the audience cheered them up. Another photo was of the drummer himself.

The third picture was of a statement that was captioned, “Guns N’ Roses announce the amicable exit of Frank Ferrer.” It read:

“The band thanks Frank for his friendship, creativity and sturdy presence over the past 19 years, and wish him success in the next chapter of his musical journey.” The statement added:
“Frank first joined GNR during a show in June 2006 helping anchor the rhythm section during subsequent tours, including their recent outings featuring the reunited trio of Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan. His last show with the band took place November 5, 2023 in Mexico.”

According to multiple outlets, Ferrer has been regarded as the longest-serving drummer in Guns N’ Roses history.

A report in Rolling Stone stated that Guns N’ Roses revealed the details about their new drummer in a statement on March 20, 2025.

“Carpenter has made a name for himself by uniquely blending versatility and groove with crushing force and technical skill, cementing his reputation as a multifaceted drummer in the industry,” the band said.

Carpenter is expected to join the iconic band for their upcoming 2025 European, Asian, and Middle East Tour, which has been dubbed "Because What You Want and What You Get Are Two Completely Different Things." This will be their first tour in two years since their last tour which was reportedly held in 2023.

The tour will reportedly begin on May 1, 2025, kicking off from Incheon, South Korea, and will conclude on July 31, 2025, in Wacken, Germany.
