Dave Navarro recently tied the knot for the fourth time with actress and fashion designer Vanessa DuBasso on March 29, 2025. The wedding took place at Dunskey Estate in Stranraer, Scotland.
The couple told People magazine that they had always dreamt of a fairytale wedding. According to DuBasso’s interview with People magazine, the venue was “surrounded by a towering forest, a serene lake, and the ruins of a castle along the shoreline.” She added, “It felt like stepping into a fairytale.”
To which Jane’s Addiction guitarist added,
"We wanted our wedding to feel like a dream. It was important to us to find a place that felt unlike anywhere we had ever been, a place that embraced nature and transported us to another world.”
The guitarist previously struggled with health issues due to lingering symptoms of COVID-19. He reportedly missed Jane Addiction’s tour in 2022 and 2023. Here is what we know.
How did Dave Navarro’s health affect his performances with Jane’s Addiction?
Dave Navarro’s health challenges impacted his performances with Jane’s Addiction, which led to both professional and personal consequences.
According to a 2022 report in NME, Navarro opened up about his long battle with COVID-19. He first caught Covid in December 2021, but despite testing negative, he continued to face the symptoms. He shared an update about his health in a now-deleted Instagram post and wrote:
“So yeah, I’m one of the ones who came down with the ‘long haul covid’. Been sick since December and supposedly will be back to my old self in… nobody knows how long.” He continued to write trying to motivate those who faced similar condition.
“If there are any of you who are still suffering long after your negative results, I’m just saying you aren’t alone. The fatigue and isolation is pretty awful but try to spend your time with the ones you love and stay creative. That’s how I’m trying to get through this thing. Also lots of spiritual practices, meditation and yoga have been very helpful. I’ll be ok, just don’t know when.”
Jane’s Addiction was scheduled to play at the Welcome to Rockville music festival in Florida on May 22, 2022, but they canceled due to Navarro’s “long bout with COVID,” said the band’s frontman, Perry Farrell.
A report in Ultimate Classic Rock explained that he struggled with long COVID when the band was touring in 2022 and 2023, which forced him to step back from the stage in 2022. The band hired Troy Van Leeuwen from Queens of the Stone Age and then former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer to replace him during this period.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, he shared that he felt disappointed at missing the tours, but on the other hand, he was relieved that the band could continue without him.
“Part of me was disappointed to not participate, of course, because this is the band I was in since I was a teenager,” he said. “But I have to say that was overshadowed by the relief I had that I didn’t… prevent these guys from working.
Jane’s Addiction guitarist hinted at his departure from the band in 2024 following an altercation with band member Perry Farrell. The alleged fight occurred during a concert in Boston on September 13.

According to a report in USA Today, the band also canceled the rest of the tour after the incident. They announced their decision on social media.
However, the singer later apologized for his behavior in a statement. As reported by Rolling Stone, he wrote:
“This weekend has been incredibly difficult, and after having the time and space to reflect, it is only right that I apologize to my bandmates, especially Dave Navarro, fans, family and friends for my actions during Friday’s show.”
“Unfortunately, my breaking point resulted in inexcusable behavior, and I take full accountability for how I chose to handle the situation,” he added.
Reportedly, Jane’s Addiction kicked off their first tour in 2024. Reports of new music in the making have emerged. As per Independent, as of now, it is not confirmed whether the trio (guitarist Dave Navarro, bassist Eric Avery, and drummer Stephen Perkins) will be releasing the music under the name Jane’s Addiction or not.
