Dropkick Murphys are an American band, originally formed in Quincy, Massachusetts. Ken Casey is from Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Matt Kelly is from Leominster, Massachusetts, James Lynch is from Sturbridge, Massachusetts, Al Barr is from Hanover, New Hampshire, Tim Brennan is from West Hartford, Connecticut, and Jeffrey DaRosa is from Watertown, Massachusetts.

The Dropkick Murphys are a strong supporter of US businesses and are a supporter of the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO). The band ensures all of their merchandise are made within the US.

During a recent performance at Clearwater, Florida, band vocalist Ken Casey called out a fan at the venue who was wearing a MAGA (Make America Great Again, the right-wing primary base of support for Republican president Donald Trump) T-shirt, challenging the fan to check where their T-shirt was made and if it was not made in the US, to stop wearing it:

"The reason we speak out, we don't care if we lose fans, because when history is said and done, we want it known that Dropkick Murphys stood with the people, we stood with the workers, Okay? And.. and.. its all a fuc***g scam guys. Okay, I want to propose in the name of decency and fairness, sir, I'd like to propose a friendly wager."

The MAGA T-shirt wearing fan agreed and Ken Casey continued:

" You can't lose this wager, would you? In the name of dialog and discourse. And I appreciate you being here. Would you agree to a friendly wager? Well, first of all, do you support American workers? (the reply is yes from the fan).. Of course you do...okay so, And you support American businesses obviously, okay."

Casey continued:

"So I don't know if you guys are aware because we don't go around fuc**** bragging about it, but Dropkick Murphys always sells proudly Made in America merchandise only. And here's the bet I'd like to make. If you lose the bet, we switch shirts. If you win, I give you $100 and the shirts, right.

Casey continued with the cooperation of the willing fan:

"Sir, could you both turn backwards.. He just needs to check your tags on your shirt and hat. Just to see where they're made... The MAGA shirt. Let's see where that's made... Nicaragua. Its made in Nicaragua."

The fan then takes the shirt off, and Casey commends the fan on keeping the bargain, tossing the fan a Dropkick Murphy shirt in replacement for the MAGA T-shirt.
