It is no secret that SEVENTEEN is one of the most influential K-pop groups, and their storied history and impressive music resume are proof of that. The group, consisting of Joshua, Jeonghan, S.Coups, Hoshi, DK, Mingyu, Dino, The8, Vernon, Jun, Woozi, Joshua, and Wonwoo, debuted on May 26, 2015.
They have a stacked discography comprising four released studio albums, several Extended Plays and an upcoming project launching in 2025.
On April 23, 2025, the 13-member group celebrated the second anniversary of the release of their 2023 Extended Play FML. The group’s eleventh Extended Play featured an interesting mix of songs, showcasing the group’s affinity for leading fans to enjoy different sounds and artistic leanings.
More details on the 2023 EP FML as SEVENTEEN marks its second anniversary
In April 2023, the talented boy group SEVENTEEN released their highly-anticipated EP FML to critical acclaim. The musical project started strong, and became the most preordered album in South Korea. It sold 4.64 million copies even before its release.
FML is SEVENTEEN's eleventh Korean language EP and was released following their third Japanese EP, released on November 9, 2022. FML is an interesting body of work because it features two title tracks—the first one was named after the EP, while the second, Super, is an upbeat track with an even more engaging music video.
The hip-hop unit of SEVENTEEN, consisting of Wonwoo, S.Coups, Vernon and Mingyu, also featured a track on the FML EP—Fire. Fire features a repetitive chorus and rap-heavy elements.
I Don’t Understand, But I Love You was created by the performance unit of the K-Pop group. The song leaned toward the R&B genre and featured melodious vocals from Dino, Jun, Minghao and Hoshi. A guitar performance adds up to the song’s appeal. In the song, SEVENTEEN’s performance sub-unit emphasizes how language barriers are nothing in the face of love.
The chorus reads:
"All the words that exist in the world, yeah-eh-yeah/ It's enough for just the two of us to know, with all my desire/ With the growing wave of emotion, yeah-eh-yeah/ You know, there are more important things than words between us, right?"
The other tracks in SEVENTEEN's EP, Dust and April Shower, were created by the vocal sub-unit and showcased the group’s self-producing prowess.
FML earned SEVENTEEN its first MAMA Award for Album of the Year at the 2023 show. Other awards won by FML include Album of the Year at the Asia Artist Awards in 2023 and Golden Disc Awards for Album Bonsang and Daesang in 2024.
