Diddy's trial is set to be held from May 5, 2025, with the rapper having been denied his trial start extension on April 18, 2025. The ruling means that jury selection will start on May 5, 2025, with the actual trial currently set to start a week later as of the writing of this article. The ruling to deny the delay to trial was made by sitting judge Arun Subramanian.

Diddy's trial is for s*x trafficking and racketeering. The indictment was filed by U.S. Attorney Damian Williams, with the publicly available indictment stating:

"From at least 2008 through the present, COMBS led a criminal enterprise that existed to facilitate his abuse and exploitation of women, to protect his reputation, and to conceal his conduct. As part of that criminal enterprise, COMBS, along with other members and associates of the enterprise -"

The indictment continued:

"-committed crimes including s*x trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping arson, bribery and obstruction of justice. Among other things, COMBS’ se**al abuse of women included causing them to engage in frequent, days-long se**al activity with male commercial s*x workers, some of whom were transported over state lines."

The indictment later adds:

"These events, which COMBS referred to as “Freak Offs,” were elaborate s*x performances that COMBS arranged. To commit these crimes, COMBS relied on his power as the leader of a multi-faceted business empire. Employees of COMBS' businesses, including high ranking supervisors, security staff, personal assistants, and household staff—"

The indictment later elaborates:

"-acted as COMBS’ intermediaries to, among other things, arrange travel and hotel rooms. stock the hotel rooms for COMBS’ commercial s*x activity; contact or locate women and other individuals whom he targeted for abuse; and conceal and cover up the abuse. This criminal concealment included efforts to prevent law enforcement from learning about his abuse."

The charges have now been updated to include two more charges, bringing the total number of charges to nine. Diddy's indictment details are briefly elaborated upon in the following sections.

Diddy's indictment started back in September 2024

Diddy was arrested on September 16, 2024, by the U.S. federal authorities. The singer was taken to the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center, and he is still currently held at that facility.

Before his arrest, a video of Cassie Ventura being assaulted by the rapper surfaced, which led to a settlement around charges of rape and assault, just a day after the assault charge was registered. The rapper has now filed a motion to exclude the video or at least appeal to the unreliability of the video.

Alongside the above-mentioned indictment, Diddy is also facing a separate lawsuit, which brings charges of human trafficking, filed by Joseph Manzaro, who is from Florida, USA. Manzaro is accusing the rapper of drugging him and using him in one of his 'Freak Offs' against his will.

The lawsuit also names Jay-Z, Beyoncé, LeBron James, and Jacob Arabo as witnesses but does not make allegations against them. The lawsuit does make allegations against Emilio Estefan and Brendan Paul.

One other lawsuit was dismissed, but the one by Manzaro is ongoing, making a total of four lawsuits against the rapper on similar charges that are known—two settled and dismissed, and two ongoing. Diddy faces over 30 years of imprisonment from just one lawsuit, with imprisonment terms for both lawsuit convictions measured in more than Diddy's potential remaining lifespan.
