Roy Thomas Baker passed away on April 12 at his home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, at the age of seventy-eight. Baker's official cause of death has not been shared yet, as reports say it had not been determined at the time of the announcement.

His family made the news public on April 22, with spokesperson Bob Merlis. The news came as a shock to the music industry and Queen fans around the world, many of whom took to social media to honor his legacy and celebrate his contributions to music.

Roy Thomas Baker has produced five albums for Queen, which include Queen, Queen II, Sheer Heart Attack, A Night at the Opera, and Jazz. Other than Queens, Baker has also worked with a range of famous artists, including Cars, Guns N' Roses, Devo, Alice Cooper, and Cheap Trick.

His one of the most famously produced songs, Bohemian Rhapsody, from the Queen's album, A Night at the Opera, ranked number one on many charts worldwide and sold over six million copies. In 2018, it became the most-streamed 20th-century song and was added to the Grammy Hall of Fame and U.S. National Recording Registry.

Fans and artists are paying heartfelt tribute to the legendary producer all over social media. The American actress and radio personality, Martha Quinn, wrote on X,

"I'm so sorry to hear Roy Thomas Baker passed away . In his 78 years he was behind the board for many rock masterpieces. Queen's A Night At The Opera, @JourneyOfficial 's Infinity, Cars lp's Candy-O & many more. RTB also produced T'Pau's 1987 hit Heart and Soul. Prayers to his loved ones"

An American musician and songwriter, Neal Schon, on X posted,

"RIP Roy we made our Infinity & Evolution albums with Steve Perry. God Bless and my sincere condolences to all 🙏🏽✝️🙏🏽"

Jimmy Steinfeldt added on X,

"My friend Roy Thomas Baker has passed at age 78. A great record producer. See today's Rolling Stone magazine. Roy chose my photo for his home page for 20 years. I will miss him and I send sincere condolences to his wife Tere."

Bohemian Rhapsody, sung by Queen, is also used by Green Day as part of their pre-show playlist, played through the sound system to warm up the crowd before their performance.
