Vince Neil, the frontman of Mötley Crüe, faces ongoing health issues that have led the band to cancel their upcoming performance at the Boardwalk Rock Festival in Ocean City, Maryland, scheduled for May 17, 2025. The singer underwent a medical procedure and is currently in the recovery period.

The news follows an earlier delay in the band’s Las Vegas residency, raising concerns among fans about Neil’s well-being. While details remain limited, the band has asked for privacy and support as Vince Neil focuses on recovery.

Mötley Crüe drops out of the Boardwalk Rock Festival due to Vince Neil’s condition

On April 3, the band issued a joint statement confirming their retraction from the festival. The band said,

“Motley Crue will be unable to perform at Boardwalk Rock in Ocean City, Md., on May 17 as Vince Neil is recuperating after a required medical procedure advised by the doctors. Vince’s health comes first, and we fully support him in prioritizing his recovery.”

They also thanked Alice in Chains for stepping in as replacement headliners. The statement did not elaborate on Vince Neil's specific condition, which has yet to be publicly identified.

Las Vegas residency was pushed to September after a last-minute postponement

This isn't the first time Vince Neil’s health has influenced Mötley Crüe’s tour schedule this year. In early March, just weeks before their Las Vegas residency was set to begin, the band announced a postponement.

“To all the Crüeheads who were looking forward to seeing us this spring, I’m truly sorry,” Neil shared in a March 4 update.
“My health is my top priority so I can bring you the awesome shows you deserve.”

The residency, initially planned from March 28 to April 19, has been moved to September.

Vince Neil’s health struggles remain private but have impacted performances

Although fans have speculated online, no official diagnosis or cause has been shared by Neil or his team. At 64, the rocker has faced several physical challenges in the past, including vocal strain and injuries during previous tours.

However, the current situation has been described only as “mysterious health problems” by multiple sources, with no confirmation on whether it's a new condition or a complication of existing issues.

A recent incident involving Neil’s private plane brought added attention

In February 2025, Vince Neil made headlines when his private jet collided with another plane on the runway at Scottsdale Airport in Arizona. Though he was not aboard—he was in Florida celebrating his birthday—his girlfriend, Rain Andreani, was among the injured. One pilot tragically lost his life in the accident.

A spokesperson later confirmed,

“Mr. Neil was not on the plane… His thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved.”

While not directly linked to his health issues, the incident kept Neil in the public eye in recent weeks.

Vince Neil’s health remains a matter of worry, with fans left waiting for further updates. The band has kept communication minimal but reliable, focusing on Neil’s recovery and the support of their fanbase.

With their next shows scheduled for later this year, Mötley Crüe hopes for a full recovery. Until then, the limelight stays on Neil’s road to getting back onstage—whenever he’s ready.
