Lewis Capaldi surprised fans with a rare public appearance on Friday, March 28, 2025. Lewis was spotted at a wrestling match that took place at London's O2 Arena. In a photo shared on Netflix's official Instagram account, Capaldi is seen wearing a black zip-up jacket as he flashes a peace sign at the camera.
The Someone You Loved singer was seen channeling his inner fan spirit as he joined thousands of other fans in enjoying the action in the ring. He appeared to be enjoying himself, seeing the wrestling bouts of LA Knight vs. Braun Strowman in a United States Championship Match and Pretty Deadly vs. The Street Profits in the WWE Tag Team Championship Match. Another picture showed him greeting popular Scottish wrestler Drew McIntyre backstage.

This surprise cameo at the WWE Smackdown Live event happened after he took a break from singing in 2023. Following his performance at Glastonbury in June 2023, where he struggled to manage Tourette's symptoms, Lewis declared he would be taking a break from the limelight to focus on his mental health.
More details on Lewis Capaldi's hiatus
Lewis Capaldi suffers from Tourette Syndrome and has struggled with the symptoms for a while. During his headlining performance at Glastonbury in 2023, Lewis Capaldi found it difficult to complete his pyramid stage slot after being hit with a bout of tics and interruptions.
Lewis was helped through the event as fans cheered and chanted his name, intending to see him through.
While on the stage, Capaldi said to the audience,
"I recently took three weeks off just because I've been non stop the past year and I wanted to take a wee break from my head for my mental health. I wanted to come back and do Glastonbury because it's obviously so incredible so I just want to thank you all for coming out. I was scared but you've really made me feel at ease so thank you very much for that."
He further stated, announcing his break,
"I feel like I'll be taking another wee break over the next couple of weeks so you probably won't see much of me for the rest of the year maybe even. But when I do come back, when I do see you, I hope you're all still up for watching."
Lewis Capaldi's hiatus lasted two years. But recently, Yungblud, a close friend of Lewis, revealed that the singer will soon be back with a new project.
"I have heard his new music and it sounds great. He is getting his mental health right. I love him, as me and him have been on this ride together."
He added,
"We experienced it at the same time and he is perhaps the only friend who knows what I am going through, in the same way I know what he's going through."
The singer has not responded to recent reports that he is preparing to release a third album, which has been long anticipated.
