Doechii's official music video for Anxiety is finally here, and the internet has erupted with reactions.
The video features Easter eggs, a throwback to her beginnings, and more. The Grammy-winning rapper's beloved track samples Gotye and Kimbra's 2011 hit Somebody That I Used to Know. It has already proven to be a fan favorite since its official release in March 2025.
Now, with the official music video out as of April 18, 2025, fans are buzzing again. Take a look at the newly released Anxiety music video below:
According to reports, Doechii originally uploaded Anxiety to YouTube in 2019 as part of her Coven Music Sessions Vol. 1. It was recorded in her bedroom without proper licensing for the Gotye sample. Despite being unofficial, the song was later sampled by rapper Sleepy Hallow in 2023.
It was not until this year that Anxiety exploded on TikTok due to a viral dance paired with a Fresh Prince of Bel-Air clip. Multiple celebrities joined the trend. This online wave reportedly pushed Doechii to re-record and officially release the track, which climbed to No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Netizens were quick to gather in the comment section of the official YouTube video as they penned their reactions to the brand-new MV. Below are some of what they had to share:
"She can sing she can rap she can dance she can act she can write she can compose AND she's gorgeous. We're witnessing perfection", declared a netizen.
"The symbolism of the a fire next to a fireman who is ignoring it. The way it feels when you have to handle issues alone knowing there's people around who can help, they just don't care.", noted another.
"Starting the video with a recreation of her singing in her old room, Referencing Somebody that I Used to know’s Music video, Showing us how anxiety feels like and keeping this kn the form of a loop, from the stove burning to family dinners. Love it!!! Doechii deserves another grammy", stated a third.

Others also chimed in:
"She literally nailed it, the music video matches the song vibes and meaning. Black girl magic. This is the meaning of anxiety "Anxiety" is about what appears to be Doechii's experiences with worrying and mental health. She describes the physical sensation of anxiety", commented a fan.
"I love that the video starts and ends in her bedroom — it really emphasizes how anxiety is often rooted internally, within ourselves. The setting reflects that the battle is happening in her own mind, in her personal space where she should feel safest.", lauded another.
"Love how she’s telling the audience what gives her anxiety. Feds bussing through her windows, kitchen fire, chandelier falling on her. Then outside shows that everyone has anxiety not just her!!!! Brilliant", expressed a third.
Doechii's Anxiety music video is directed by James Mackel.
It opens with Doechii walking through a mansion with a staff. Chaos crashes in with a SWAT team storming through windows, dancers performing choreography in rooms, and a kitchen fire erupting. Doechii moves from one disaster to the next.
The video features body-painted visuals from the Somebody That I Used to Know music video. Two characters painted in geometric patterns stand frozen against a mural. It is a nod to the look of Gotye and Kimbra in their original 2011 clip.
Moreover, a cameo from two young girls dressed like the twins from The Shining is also there. According to reports, the girls are Doechii's real-life younger twin sisters.
