Rapper A$AP Rocky was acquitted of two felony assault charges involving a semiautomatic firearm after being charged on August 15, 2022. These charges stemmed from an incident that happened in 2021, where he was accused of firing several times at his former friend Terell Ephron, also known as A$AP Relli, during a heated argument.

Ephron alleged that Rocky held the gun at him and fired it twice, which led to a minor injury to his knuckles. However, Rocky's defense argued that the gun was a prop used by Rocky for his music video, and it fired only blank. They also claimed that it was Ephron who started the fight. Ephron also filed a civil lawsuit against Rocky.

A$AP Rocky's final verdict: Not guilty

The jury found Rocky not guilty which exempted him from 180 days in jail, along with three years probation and a seven-year suspended prison sentence.

After the final verdict was given, Rocky hugged his supporters, and a loud cheering was heard in the courtroom. The hearing was live-streamed on Tuesday, 18 February. Thanking the 12 members of the jury, He said:

''Thank y'all for saving my life.''

Rihanna was present in the front row, along with Rocky's mother and sister. Later, Rocky, standing between his attorney and Rihanna, told the reporters outside the courtroom:

"We want to thank God first. This is crazy right now. I'm thankful and blessed to be here right now, to be a free man talking to y'all.''

Rocky's first and second studio albums - Long. Live. A$AP, and At.Long.Last.A$AP made it to the number one position on the Billboard 200 pop charts in 2013 and 2015. His third album Testing peaked in the top 5 in 2018, and his fourth one Don't Be Dumb is expected to release this year.
