More details on NJZ's legal battle with ADOR
NJZ's conflict with ADOR, a subsidiary under the Mega Hybe label, partly stems from a corporate quarrel between Min Hee-Jin, the former CEO of ADOR, and the Hybe label. Min Hee-Jin was fired from her position as CEO after Hybe alleged that she was planning to take over ADOR, making it independent from Hybe.
New Jeans demanded she be reinstated, claiming that they would not remain in ADOR without her. True to their word, New Jeans announced their departure from the group and unveiled a new name in February 2025.
However, the girls' group lost a court battle against ADOR after a South Korean court passed an injunction that prevented NJZ from carrying out any commercial activity under their new name with the claim that doing so would seriously damage ADOR's reputation.
This is just the beginning of a legal battle between ADOR and NJZ. A full hearing of the ADOR lawsuit is scheduled for April 3.
