On the recent episode of the show, It Is What It Is, Cam'ron opened the show by paying an emotional tribute to Young. He expressed the grief and shock he felt when the news came out. Expressing his feelings, he said:
''Big rest in peace to my bro Young Scooter, man. That had me in tears this past weekend. I love that n**ga.''

On March 28, 2025, the Atlanta police received a fabricated 911 call from a woman who was later identified as Demetria Spence. On the call, she claimed that in the neighborhood, gunshots were fired, a woman was dragged, and the violence also involved a child.
However, when the police arrived at the area, they didn't find any such scenes like the one the woman described on the call. They found two men fleeing. One of them stopped and returned while the other was Young Scooter. After a short chase, the police found him injured and took him to the hospital.
It was later revealed that Young injured his thigh while escaping over wooden fencing or wooden debris, and it caused a lot of blood loss, leading to his death. As per TMZ Hip Hop, the woman who made the false 911 call is also known as Demi Blanco and was a contestant on the reality show Baddies.
While the reason why Young Scooter was fleeing the scene remains unknown, the music industry and Young's fellow artists, his fans, and his family are mourning his loss.
According to Fox 5 Atlanta, Young's family has issued a statement stating that they are devastated by the death of Young and request for privacy and prayers.
Other than Cam'ron, Young also worked with other prominent artists such as Gucci Mane, Waka Flocka Flame, and Future.
