Bob Mould, the iconic frontman of Hüsker Dü, recently reflected on the indie rock scene and discussed his latest album, Here We Go Crazy in an exclusive interview with the Rolling Stones.
The 64-year-old singer released his 15th solo album on March 7, 2025. He shared the announcement on his Instagram, and wrote:
“Greetings from Berlin. Today is album release day! Thanks for your patience. I hope you enjoy the words and music, and I look forward to seeing you this year.”
In his interview with the outlet, he explained how he is not a Zoom guy but loves the raw essence of the musical performances.
“People were saying, ‘Oh, come on, you could do Zoom concerts. And I’m like, ‘No, you don’t understand. That’s not what performing music is. Performing music is when people get together in a room and create a community.’ The idea of doing Zoom from my work room was frightening. No interest whatsoever.”
With this he draws a line between the artificiality of digital formats and shared energy of a live setting, which he believes is non-negotiable.

Bob Mould shares insights about his latest release, Here We Go Crazy
Bob Mould, whose real name is Robert Arthur Mould, spoke about Here We Go Crazy to Rolling Stones and explained how he tries to seek tranquillity amidst chaos through the album.
The report stated that Mould is currently settled in San Francisco with his husband Don Fisher. The couple reportedly tied the knot in 2023.
“Here We Go Crazy was the song that brought everything together. What I’m trying to in that song is paint a picture of my new part-time life in the desert, surrounded by the mountains.”
He told Rolling Stones. “It’s a very LGBTQ-friendly environment. It feels safe for now.” The singer added.
According to Bob Mould’s official website, the album features drummer Jon Wurster and bassist Jason Narducy.
“On the surface, this is a group of straightforward guitar pop songs. I’m refining my primary sound and style through simplicity, brevity, and clarity," Mould shared as mentioned on his website.
“Under the hood, there’s a number of contrasting themes. Control and chaos, hypervigilance and helplessness, uncertainly and unconditional love.”
According to a report in Britannica, Hüsker Dü is an American punk rock band formed in Saint Paul, Minnesota in the 1980s. The band consisted of three members – vocalist/guitarist Bob Mould, bassist Greg Norton and drummer/vocalist Grant Hart. Land Speed Record was reportedly their first album, which was released in 1981.
They reportedly disbanded in 1988 after producing several critically acclaimed albums including New Day Rising (1985), Flip Your Wig (1985), and Warehouse: Songs and Stories (1987). Later, he continued with the band, Sugar.
Here We Go Crazy is the successor to Mould’s last album Blue Hearts, which was released in 2020. It featured 14 tracks, according to his official website.
Mould will be beginning a Solo Electric tour in November, starting from Paris. This will be followed by performances in Italy, Greece, Scotland, and England. His band will perform from November 20 in London, Berlin, and Leuven (Belgium), according to his Instagram post.
