Thrash metal band Testament are hitting the road in Spring 2025 for a run of intimate shows across the United States.
The tour, titled 'An Evening with Testament,' will celebrate the 35th anniversary of their beloved 1989 album 'Practice What You Preach.' Fans can expect a full-album performance and other acoustic renditions, along with stories from the band about their journey through the years.
The tour officially kicks off on April 30, 2025, in Tucson, Arizona, and wraps up on May 25 in San Diego, California. It will make stops in cities like Brooklyn, Baltimore, Milwaukee, and Austin. Testament will also appear at some rock festivals like Sonic Temple and Welcome to Rockville during the tour.
Testament took to their official X (formerly Twitter) page to announce that,
"AN EVENING W/ TESTAMENT Tour. Celebrating 35th Anniversary of PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH - Tickets On Sale March 7th http://testamentlegions.com In support of the “PWYP” reissues via we wanted to do something intimate for the fans; performing deep cuts & classic ballads."
Fans were quick to gather in the comment section of the post to share their thoughts on this announcement. Below are what some of them had to remark:
"Hell YES, Milwaukee a week before my 55th Birthday, I am there...!!!!!", hyped a fan.
"Please bring this show to Montréal Canada !!!", requested another.
"You gonna play Sins Of Omission? Let’s get an LA show!", added a third.
"There going to be any local support spots on this tour? Would love to get my thrash band on the Pensacola, FL show on 05/17 at Vinyl Music Hall if possible.", asked an X user.
About Testament
The band emerged from the San Francisco Bay Area thrash metal scene in the 1980s. Their first three albums, The Legacy (1987), The New Order (1988), and Practice What You Preach (1989), were notably acclaimed among the fans and enthusiasts.
While the band never quite reached the mainstream heights of Metallica or Slayer, Testament remained a beloved one in the metal community.
Unlike a standard tour, 'An Evening with Testament' is expected to be a dive into the band’s past. It will feature performances of the entire 'Practice What You Preach' album, along with unreleased tracks, reports suggest. The band's guitarist, Eric Peterson, stated in a statement shared with Consequence,
"This will be a night to remember! Like all of our shows, we have a great time, but an evening with Testament will mean just that! Story telling, deep cuts never before heard, plus Practice What You Preach was a milestone for us, and now will be performed in its entirety. We’ll have some cool tales to tell about making the record and where we were at during that time in our career."
