SEVENTEEN is all set to make a comeback with a new studio album, expected to launch on May 26, 2025. The boy band debuted on May 26, 2015, and will celebrate their 10th anniversary this year with fans through new music.
The South Korean boy band consists of thirteen members, which include S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Jun, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, Seungkwan, Vernon, The8, and Dino.
As of 2025, one member of SEVENTEEN has already started military service, while others will join later. Jeonghan enlisted in September 2024, and Wonwoo will enlist in April 2025. Woozi and Hoshi will start their military service in the second half of 2025. The remaining Korean members, DK, Mingyu, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino, will enlist by the time they turn 30.
However, four members of the band do not have to enlist for military duty, including S.Coups who was exempt due to a knee injury, Joshua who has U.S. citizenship, and Jun and The8, who have Chinese citizenship.
Fans are curious about how SEVENTEEN’s comeback will include Jeonghan, who is already in the military, and Wonwoo, who will be enlisting soon.
Jeonghan and Wonwoo will be included in the new album
The new SEVENTEEN album, scheduled to launch in May, will include all the members of the boy band, including Jeonghan and Wonwoo, amidst their ongoing military schedules. The group recorded all the songs before Jeonghan left for military service in September 2024.
Wonwoo, who is set to enlist in April 2025, has also recorded his parts for the album. By the time the album is released, Jeonghan will be serving in the military, and Wonwoo will have just started his service.
Soon after the release, Hoshi and Woozi will also join the military. Hoshi, in the fan meeting in CARAT LAND, said:
"We’ve received our military enlistment schedules, and we’ll be enlisting later this year, but we’ll be able to make some lasting memories and celebrate our 10th anniversary together."
He added:
"It’s not like we’re disappearing — we’ll continue to work hard even after we return. People say nothing lasts forever, but SEVENTEEN is going to take on that challenge. We’ll need your support to do it."
SEVENTEEN has released four studio albums as of March 2025. The Korean boy band won the MTV Video Music Award for Group of the Year in 2024 and the Asia Artist Award for Best K-Pop Record in 2024. The band has over five million monthly listeners on Spotify.
