The singer spoke about the upcoming tour in a press statement, stating:

"For too many years to count, more than I care to admit, I’ve performed across every corner of Australia. From smoky clubs to rowdy pubs, sprawling festivals to RSL halls, I’ve done it all, and I’ve cherished every second of it. Since the ‘60s, I’ve poured my heart into this circuit, but after decades of constant motion, I started to feel a creeping sense of déjà vu -"

The singer continued:

"-maybe I was repeating myself, treading the same worn paths. That’s why my albums have danced through so many styles—folk, rock, blues, you name it. I’m not built for the repetitive; it’s like circling the drain, and I refuse to let that be my story. So, we’ve crafted this tour as a kind of farewell—a grand send-off to this chapter. Is it the last shows?

The singer continued:

"Who can say for sure? Life’s unpredictable, and I’m not one for absolutes. But right now, it feels like it could be. One thing’s certain: no more endless rounds of clubs, pubs, or RSLs. Maybe a rare one-off gig down the line, if the stars align. For now, though, this is my way of closing the loop—not the end of my music, but the end of the beginning. A pivot, not a full stop."

Russell Morris's upcoming tour will feature songs from all across his career, particularly the greatest hits of his career. The singer has had a prolific career since starting out in 1966, with fifteen solo studio albums, the latest of which, The Dreams of Jack Chrome, was released in 2022.

Russell Morris talked about his music in a press statement released at the time of the album, stating that it was the perspective of the alter ego Jack Chrome through which he wrote the songs of the album, here quoted via The Rockpit article on the album on August 3, 2022:

"Jack Chrome has become my alter ego. I write the songs from his perspective (like an actor) taking on a different character and persona. The songs have an ethereal dream like quality; vacillating between psychedelia, and rootsy blues. I feel connected to him on a quantum level… entangled particles."

Russell Morris had his career-best commercial success with the album Sharkmouth, which was released in 2012 and subsequently went on to become a platinum-certified album.
