Tate McRae's career in music began after she became the first Canadian finalist on the dance reality show So You Think You Can Dance. The song that brought her international recognition was You Broke Me First, which was released in April 2020. The song secured the 17th spot on the US Billboard Hot 100.

Since 2020, McRae has been creating more music and winning more awards than ever. Recently the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) recognized several of her songs with new certifications.

Pop Base listed the songs and their certifications in an X post. To this, a fan responded,

"Really impressive to see Tate's growth from "you broke me first" to where she is now. Reminds me of how jazz legends like Miles Davis evolved their sound over time - each new certification marking a new chapter in her artistic journey."

Fans congratulate Tate McRae on her new RIAA certifications

Pop Base shared the latest RIAA certifications for Tate McRae's songs. Four of her songs received Gold certification: It's Ok I'm Ok, Uh Oh, Chaotic, and Rubberband. Meanwhile, four other songs achieved different levels of Platinum certification. You Broke Me First was certified 5× Platinum, while Greedy reached 4× Platinum. Exes earned a 2× Platinum certification, and Run For The Hills was certified Platinum.

Tate McRae's fans rejoiced after seeing these songs on the list. Here's what they have to say:

One fan praised McRae for being the complete package, writing,

"the epitome of a "complete package" - perfect zeitgeist" - @tdkimber noted.

Another fan referenced King Midas, whose touch turned everything to gold:

"she's killing it lately, got that Midas touch for sure" - @_CryptoJT_ remarked.

Another user referred to the Avengers' famous "infinity stones". Remarking on McRae's exceptional accolades:

"She’s collecting plaques like Infinity Stones." - @nova_crafts wrote.

However, one fan felt greedy and deserved more recognition:

"Greedy being at 4x doesn’t make any sense it deserves to be at 8x platinum by now" - @harryshouse3 added.

Not all comments were celebratory, as some shared their criticism:

"Tate McRae's RIAA certifications prove that TikTok virality matters more than musical quality or a song's longevity nowadays." - @CUDRIZCOL remarked.

Tate McRae continues climbing the charts with her music. With the release of her new album So Close To What, she may be adding even more plaques in the future.
