Playboi Carti fans have spent years waiting for a new album, and their patience might finally be rewarded. A new billboard in Miami has fueled speculation about a new release. The billboard featured the message: "Music Is Coming."

With Spotify’s logo appearing at the bottom, the advertisement suggests that Carti’s long-awaited album may soon hit streaming platforms. The billboard was located near Bayfront Park.

The billboard is generating notable buzz as it follows a long series of cryptic teases and delays. Playboi Carti, known for his experimental sound, last released an album in 2020, titled Whole Lotta Red.

Since then, he has promised new music repeatedly, only for release dates to slip by without explanation. Now, with Spotify actively promoting the project, the anticipation among fans has reached a new level.

Fans react to the brand new Spotify billboard featuring Music Is Coming

Kurrco took to its X (formerly Twitter) page to share a video of the Spotify billboard that was spotted in Miami. The post read:

"New Playboi Carti x Spotify Billboard spotted in Miami - "MUSIC IS COMING""

Below are what some fans had to share regarding the promotion of Playboi Carti's upcoming album:

"This finally feels real since the label probably paid for this and it’s not carti saying it", noted a fan. (@kanyestreams1)
"I HOPE ITS TRUE," added another. (@RandomGiraffe1)
"This gotta be the first move of the rollout right?" questioned a third. (@PloybertCorti)

However, some netizens speculated that the release is not coming anytime soon. Spotting '2027' in the billboard, one shared, @IshDavidd commented on X:

"Y’all gotta read the fine print."
"This means music is not coming," declared another X user. (@DogNinja99)
"I don't believe it, until I don't see the album pre-save page on his Spotify Artist profile," stated a third. (@DaniFighterHU)
"Music has been coming for a long time," joked a fourth. (@lxlvsh0t)

Their speculations might be justified by the fact that for nearly four years, Playboi Carti has kept fans on edge with vague announcements, mysterious social media posts, and unreleased tracks surfacing online. He first mentioned his next project, initially titled Music, in 2022. Over time, details have shifted, and leaks have created more confusion than clarity.

In late 2023 and early 2024, Playboi Carti released a few standalone singles, including All Red. However, there was still no sign of a full-length album.

Moreover, the latest billboard is not the first time Carti has hinted at an upcoming release. In August 2024, while performing in Germany, he promised fans that his next project was on the way. However, it still seems to be on the way.

The repeated delays led fans to launch an online petition calling for Carti to be banned from streaming platforms until he dropped new music.

Another reason fans believe an announcement is near is Playboi Carti’s involvement in The Weeknd’s After Hours Til Dawn 2025 Tour. Set to kick off in May, the tour will feature Carti as a supporting act alongside Mike Dean. With The Weeknd’s latest album Hurry Up Tomorrow completing his trilogy, the tour is expected to be a major cultural event.

It’s unlikely that Playboi Carti would commit to a hyped tour without new material to perform. This has led many to speculate that the album, or at least a single, will drop before the tour begins.
