The English musician, Peter Murphy, teams up with 64-year-old record producer Martin Glover, aka Youth, for the release of the Gothic-Rock-inspired album Silver Shade. On March 13, 2025, Peter Murphy shared a post on IG, showing the art cover for his upcoming album Silver Shade, featuring a silver-colored bust image of himself and captioned:
“Peter Murphy’s highly anticipated NEW studio album, 'Silver Shade' NOW AVAILABLE for pre-order on Bandcamp and several sites with UK/Europe distribution.”

“Silver Shade is Peter’s first new studio album since 2014’s acclaimed 'Lion' and reunites Peter with producer Youth and features 12 new original songs. Available on digital download, CD, and limited edition 2 LP Black vinyl exclusive to Bandcamp. The album will be released on 9 May, 2025.”
Three singles from the album have been released already, including Let The Flowers Grow feat Boy George, Swoon feat Trent Reznor, and The Artroom Wonder feat Justin Chancellor.

“'The Artroom Wonder’ is an echo from my fourth year at senior school. Daniel Ash and I are listening to the mysterious sixth-year cool intelligentsia that has gathered in the art room. We have dared to enter their conclave, and the music coming from it was intriguing. We discover that the song being played is ‘The Bewlay Brothers’, highly intelligent, mystical and sensual, with the singer’s voice as seductive as anyone I’d ever heard.” Murphy explained.
Silver Shade would be Murphy’s tenth studio album as a soloist, consisting of twelve tracks, including Swoon ft Trent Reznor, Hot Roy, Sherpa, Silver Shade, The Artroom Wonder ft Justin Chancellor, Meaning of My Life, Xavier New Boy, Cochita is Lame, Soothsayer, Time Waits, Sailmaker’s Charm, and Let The Flowers Grow ft Boy George.
