Playboy Carti's new album, I Am Music, is out now but is gathering attention from streamers, including DJ Akademiks and other musicians, for other reasons. Shortly after its release, Kanye West (@kanyewest) took to his X and posted a tweet,

"I DONT LIKE KENDRICK LAMARS MUSIC. HE RAPS VERY GOOD BUT I DIDNT NEED TO HEAR HIM ON CARTI ALBUM."

While Kendrick Lamar didn't respond to Kanye's tweet, fans suspected the latter was trying to start a beef. In a video shared by X user (Chatn*gga101), DJ Akademiks can be seen warning Lamar not to start a beef with Kanye West. He described Kanye as the "bigger hater" and proceeded to say,

"Nobody on planet earth can cancel Kanye."

In the stream, DJ Akademiks claims that Kanye "does the worst things on Earth but we still love that n*gga." He continues to tell Lamar that he shouldn't "try" to start a beef with Kanye or call him a "colonizer."

DJ Akademiks continues to scroll through Ye's X feed and laughs. He adds,

"Kanye is the best bro."

He adds,

"Which part of world is Ye in right now, where he is just hating?"

Playboy Carti's newest album, featuring Kendrick Lamar and other artists, is officially out. The album was initially scheduled for release at midnight PST and was launched with a delay at approximately 4:45 AM PST.

Since its release, fans and users have taken to social media to express their thoughts. The album features 30 tracks, including the singles Good Credit, Mojo Jojo, and Backd00r, which feature Kendrick Lamar's vocals. Kanye West took to his X to express that although Lamar is a "very good" rapper, he didn't want to hear him "on the Carti album." Per Billboard, Ye's X post comes one month after he said on The Download,

“If you rap against Kendrick, you will lose."

DJ Akademiks took the opportunity to share his thoughts with the audience and advised Lamar not to start a beef with Kanye. He continued to support Ye and noted that he and his followers supported Ye, irrespective of what he had done.

From a delayed release to comments from other rappers, I Am Music has stirred the internet. While fans are talking about the music, there appears to be more discussion about who is featured on the album. Per the Tribune news, DJ Akademiks had previously claimed that Lamar had influenced the album tracklist and described it as "the most complete album."

In other news, Carti will support The Weekend on his After Hours Till Dawn Tour. Additionally, he is scheduled to headline the Rolling Loud festival on March 16, 2025.
