When it comes to the pop-rock genre, the first name that comes to our mind these days is Laundry Day. The Manhattan band has been making a lot of noise with their new funky sound and is slowly becoming quite popular. The four-piece band has come together in 2018, and since then they have been producing and composing quite diligently.
As Laundry Day is a fairly young band, most Gen Zs are familiar with them. However, for the millennials and other folks, no need to worry, we've got you covered. The lead singer of the New York-based pop-rock band is Jude Ciulla-Lipkin. The other members include Henry Pearl (bassist), Sawyer Nunes (drummer and vocals), and, last but not least, Henry Weingartner (guitarist).
In a band, every member is equally important as they contribute something. However, in most cases, it's the frontman or the lead singer who steals the limelight. Well, we're not sure if that's the case with Laundry Day, but Jude Ciulla-Lipkin has surely gained a bit more attention. Having said that, all the members of Laundry Day attended Beacon High School in Manhattan, New York, where the band was originally formed.
It was Jude and Sawyer, who were initially making music together and even composed their first track. Later, Weingartner and another Beacon guy named Etai Abramovich joined them. Eventually, Pearl came on board and became the guitarist, replacing Abramovich.
The NYC band Laundry Day goes viral and talks about meeting Matty Healy

Laundry Day truly blew up TikTok and Instagram with their music getting millions of views. The band has a decent fanbase on Instagram, with 235,000 followers. However, looking at the growth of their popularity, it won't take much time to spike that number up.
In a recent interview with USA TODAY, Laundry Day's lead singer, Jude Ciulla-Lipkin, talked about meeting Matty Healy, the frontman, songwriter, and composer of the English pop rock band The 1975, in 2019 and touring with them. He was quick enough to remember a small incident with Healy.
Laundry Day was working on a song called Light Up, and they asked Healy if they could play the song for him. Healy immediately agreed and invited them onto his tour bus, which also had a built-in studio. However, Healy heard the song and loved it. Not only that, he also shared a few words of encouragement.
Matty Healy told Laundry Day:
"If you guys keep this up and lean into the 'poppiness,' you guys are gonna be so big."
During the interview with USA TODAY, the band also talked about their sixth album, which will be released this summer.
