BTS' Jin and Coldplay share the stage during the band's Seoul concert.
Jin from BTS joined Coldplay on stage during their concert in Seoul. The group has been on a world tour since last year and just made their stop in South Korea. Kpop girl group TWICE was an opener for the British band, which in itself was a huge treat for the fans. Now, imagine a member from the world-famous group BTS comes on as a surprise guest. Jin joined the band's performance on April 19, joining at Goyang Stadium, Seoul, for their 3rd concert in the city.
Coldplay has a unique trend of calling on a fan on stage to perform a song with the band's frontman, Chris Martin. Fans bring up signs asking for the chance to come on stage and perform a specific song. And that is exactly what Jin did. The I'll be there singer was spotted holding up a colorful sign with the words, "Can I sing The Astronaut with you?" just like a fan.
He went up on stage and before the song, addressed the crowd, saying,
Before going to the military, my last stage was Coldplay’s stage. Now my first concert after discharge is also Coldplay's.
To which Chris responded,"It’s all because of you we have this relationship with BTS. We missed you man, you've been in the military but you still look so HANDSOME. Look at this beautiful man!
Referring to his previous performances with both the groups and Jin alone. BTS and Coldplay performed together in 2021 at the American Music Awards. It was the first-ever live performance of their collaborative song My Universe. BTS joined Chris and the group on stage at the AMAs in a sort of spontaneous performance of their chart-topping single.

But this is not the first time the BTS member and Coldplay have shared a stage. The band, known for their iconic songs like Hymn for the Weekend, Sparks, Yellow, and more, collaborated with BTS back in 2021 on the song My Universe. Due to the collaboration being during the Pandemic, they had to collaborate from across the seas.
However, that is not all. As an enlistment gift for the fans, Jin dropped his single The Astronaut in collaboration with Coldplay in 2022, proving the deep bond between the two. They then went on to perform it together in Argentina in October 2022, during Coldplay's concert hours after the song first dropped, marking the idol's last performance before enlisting. Once again, this time, the song that was co-written by both was sung on stage with such deep emotion that it made fans cry tears of joy as videos circulated.
Coldplay has a total of 6 shows scheduled in South Korea as part of their Music Of The Spheres World Tour. The Korean leg of their tour will end on 25th April.
