Playboi Carti’s highly anticipated album I AM MUSIC has finally arrived and one of the songs features a Kendrick Lamar verse. After some last-minute delays due to sample clearances, the album was officially released on streaming platforms on March 14.

One of the songs on the album features a standout verse from Kendrick Lamar, who appears to address both the ongoing controversy with Drake and mention the rising NBA star, Luka Doncic.

Kendrick Lamar, who is well known for his deep wordplay and powerful lyrics, again caught the attention. In the new lyrics, Lamar compares his own super cool reign in the rap world to the big following of Luka Doncic who has been shining on the NBA big stage right now with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Kendrick Lamar Mentions Luka Doncic in Playboi Carti’s New Song 'GOOD CREDIT'

In the song, GOOD CREDIT, Lamar mentions Luka Doncic catching fans' attention.

"The numbers is nothing, the money is nothing, I've really been him I promise, see Kenny been heavy out west and I carry the weight n**** I'm Luka Doncic." Lamar raps.

This lyric suggests that Lamar sees himself as a heavyweight in the music industry, much like Doncic is in basketball. The verse has also sparked speculation that Lamar is addressing the lawsuit filed by Drake against Universal Music Group. Drake’s lawsuit alleges that the label conspired with Kendrick Lamar’s longtime home, Interscope, as well as Spotify and other entities, to manipulate the success of Lamar’s diss track Not Like Us.

While Lamar doesn't directly spell out a message, his new lyrics are sparking a lot of interest and analysis from fans having trouble figuring out if there are hidden words about the big feud going on between big rap stars.

Since being traded to the Los Angeles Lakers, Luka Doncic has embraced life with one of the most storied franchises in sports. He was already a well-established star during his tenure with the Dallas Mavericks, but his move to Los Angeles has pushed his fame to new heights.

When Kendrick Lamar mentions the young player in his latest verse, it illustrates how fame is spreading well beyond sport and turning Luka Doncic into a star who has great prominence in popular culture.

Reports suggest that Luka has really liked making the move to LA, but at the same time, his long-term future with the Lakers doesn't seem completely settled. With his current contract situation under scrutiny, the Lakers are expected to make a strong push to extend him this summer. Doncic appears pretty keen on signing the contract, but he might take some time to think about the details. He seems to be still looking at different options before making a final call.

Every high-profile match brings a surge of attention that Doncic has to deal with now as he plays big-city basketball. Meanwhile, Playboi Carti’s Music is generating buzz, with Kendrick Lamar’s verse adding another layer of intrigue to both the rap and sports worlds.
