Kanye West can't seem to stop himself after making headlines as he and The Game faced backlash after previewing a controversial song called "TINA," which appears to have been inspired by Beyoncé's mother, Tina Knowles. The track includes Knowles' voice sample, unusual lyrical allusions, and an odd string of social media posts that have left the fans perplexed.
The uproar started when Kanye West, better known as Ye, posted a clip of The Game performing his verse early on Tuesday, February 25. The song is introduced by a snippet of Knowles' "Spirit Tunnel" walk from The Jennifer Hudson Show, which aired the day before.
The Game alludes to Destiny's Child and an awkward direct message interaction in his verse:
“I see my Destiny’s Child / DMing was stressing me out / Nervous, my stomach in knots / So I took a couple of shots.”
West joins in, and The Game asks,
“Miss, is you tricking or not?”
The unexpected aspect of the song is further enhanced by the track's transition into a sample of Tina Turner's classic song What's Love Got to Do with It.
West confused fans with a string of enigmatic Instagram postings before teasing the song. With the caption:
"Tear that monkey up,"
His initial post merely included a banana emoji. He later fueled rumors about the song's purpose on Instagram by sharing what looked to be a screenshot of The Game emailing Tina Knowles a banana emoji.
Kanye West then posted a video of Tina Knowles dancing on The Jennifer Hudson Show, writing:
“Game finna slide for the guys.”
Many fans were left confused by these enigmatic and seemingly unconnected messages, wondering if it was a prank, a tribute, or something else completely.

Whether TINA will be featured on an official album or if it was only a marketing gimmick is yet unknown. The track's release has not been confirmed; however, it is said that Kanye West and The Game are working on separate projects.
The Game has credited West for giving him the drive he needed to finish his next album, The Documentary 3.
