A triple shooting occurred on the sets of Lil Baby's music video in Northwest Atlanta in May 2024 for filming the video in rival gang territory. As per a warrant,
"Before the video shoot could take place, Jones and his associates were shot at by multiple assailants."
Atlanta Police noted that three people were injured in the shooting, and the rapper was nearly struck. In a news conference held on February 26, 2025, Atlanta Police shared details of the May 2024 shooting incident, announcing that seven people were arrested after 13-year olds, Jakody Davis and Lamon Freemon were killed at a birthday party, in July 2024.
APD Homicide Commander Major Ralph Woolfolk noted that the killings of the teenagers were part of a gang war that started when Lil Baby filmed his music video, in rival gang territory. Woolfolk, as per Channel 2 Action News, said,
"Lamon Freeman was allowed to be a 13-year old for 27 minutes before gang violence ultimately took his life. Gang violence that was orchestrated by adults. And the cowardly acts of an Atlanta-based rapper that decided to go into a rival gang stronghold in a place he knew he should not have been."
While Woolfolk didn't name the rapper, a warrant confirmed that the rapper in reference was Lil Baby, whose real name is Dominique Jones.
