Tory Lanez's new album Peterson just came out and netizens react as the album is not visible on DSPs.
Recorded over the past few months while serving out a 10 year sentence in California Correctional Institution for shooting Megan Thee Stallion, Tory Lanez's 20-track album is a total shift from his previous works like Luv and Say It.
His evolution from highly formulaic melodic raps to the hard-hitters in Peterson, shows a profund shift in both him and his music.

Lanez's Fiery Retort
A Lanez fan took to Instagram Story and talked about how blackmailing and manipulation is rampant in the music industry, and how certain people are trying to silence Lanez.
To this, Tory Lanez reposted the story from his official Instagram account and wrote,
"Still Wont Stop Me."
The Tory Lanez Case
In July 2020, Canadian artist Tory Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, was involved in a shooting incident in Los Angeles that left rapper Megan Thee Stallion, also known as Megan Pete, with foot injuries. Initially, Megan stated that she had injured herself by stepping on glass; however, she later accused Lanez of shooting her, a claim he denied.
In December 2022, Lanez was convicted on three felony counts: assault with a semiautomatic firearm, carrying a loaded and unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and negligent discharge of a firearm. He received a 10-year prison sentence in August 2023.
While serving his sentence, Megan accused Lanez of continuing to intimidate her through intermediaries. Consequently, a judge in Los Angeles extended her restraining order against him in January 2025, lasting until January 9, 2030, which forbids any form of contact or approach.

Tory Lanez's Album Peterson
On March 7, Lanez shared his new LP Peterson produced by One Umbrella Records, which starts with a montage of all the press coverage he had received during his conviction for the shooting of Megan Thee Stalion and was sentenced to 10 years behind the bars. The songs on the album focus on how he feels being incarcerated.
The 20-track project features his father Sonstar Peterson, Max B, who is also incarcerated with him, the artist Davo, who joins him on "$ailor Moon" with King Midas.
In the middle of the song "9$IDE x Amethyst," a clip from The Joe Budden Podcast about Tory's music pops up, which went viral after the album dropped. The song also reveals that Lanez tried to reach Iggy Azalea, but she has blocked him.
Peterson follows his previous projects Lost Cause and Alone At Prom, both of which are made up of songs made by Lanez before he was sentence to prison.

Lanez's album has garnered a lot of praises from the netizens, and keeps gaining traction as of this very moment.
