Kanye West has confirmed that his highly anticipated collaboration with Playboi Carti will no longer happen. This secret project that nobody knew about before came out when Ye took to social media to announce the cancellation of the project, writing:

“WE WERE WORKING ON PROJECT CALLED CARTI YE IM SORRY THAT THIS WONT HAPPEN NOW”

This revelation sparked a flurry of reactions on social media, with fans expressing disappointment, doubt, and even relief. While some express disappointment over the loss of a likely big hit, others wonder if the collaboration was real.

Kanye West cancels collab with Playboi Carti

This news comes amid the release of Playboi Carti’s long-awaited album, Music, which faced a brief delay before finally dropping. Originally scheduled for release at midnight on March 14, the album was postponed by three hours, reportedly due to issues with sample clearances. Despite being late, this album has become a hot topic, not just about the good music itself but also the controversy surrounding it.

In a surprising turn, Kanye West openly expressed his disapproval of Kendrick Lamar’s contribution to Music. Posting on X, West stated,

“I DON’T LIKE KENDRICK LAMARS MUSIC. HE RAPS VERY GOOD BUT I DIDNT NEED TO HEAR HIM ON CARTI ALBUM.”

Fans on X reacted to Ye's tweet about canceling the Carti Ye project.

"Scrapped as how ? what will now happen to the songs," a fan wrote on X.
"I hope the ye collabs are on here," another fan wrote.
"he really running the future double album method he a marketing genius," an X user commented.
"Ask him to collab with ye," another fan commented.
"Ye the best rapper, Carti would have ruined it," a Ye fan wrote.

Kanye West about Kendrick Lamar's rap skills

There’s a buzz going around that Kanye West produced the song "Good Credit" on Playboi Carti's album Music. Variety spoke to a representative of Carti, and they said that Kanye didn't have anything to do with making that song, even though some parts have a sped-up sample that sounds a lot like his old album The College Dropout.

Ye said Lamar was the one who could beat him in a rap battle. On The Download, he said,

“If you rap against Kendrick, you will lose. This man does this. You know, in Street Fighter, you get Chun-Li, you get a certain kick, and no matter what, you can’t beat that thing?”

This remark follows his previous statement that Lamar is one of the strongest contenders in rap battles.

West’s comments have further fueled discussions among fans and critics. Some view his remarks as another instance of his unpredictable outbursts, while others see them as honest artistic opinions.
