Norwegian singer-songwriter AURORA has officially dropped a new track titled The Flood. It is her first release since the 2024 album What Happened To The Heart?.

Released on April 4, 2025, via Decca Records, the song has generated notable buzz among fans and enthusiasts online across social media platforms. Earlier this year, her 2016 track Through the Eyes of a Child gained new attention after being featured in the final episode of Netflix's hit show Adolescence.

Reports suggest that the renewed buzz surrounding the beloved singer introduced many new fans to AURORA's signature music, which is a relatively soft and atmospheric production.

Fan reactions to AURORA's brand new single, 'The Flood'

People were notably quick to weigh in on the comment section of the YouTube video to pen their thoughts on 'The Flood.' Below are what some of them had to share:

"This woman is so magical. I'm a metal head and I listen to the real extreme stuff... But Aurora's music touches a part of me that I didn't know I had and fills a void I didn't know was there. Some metal heads would call it "guilty pleasure" but there is nothing guilty or embarrassing about me admitting being an Aurora fan. It's part of my being and I will not hide it.", penned a fan.
"May you find the same comfort when the world feels heavy on you as I find in your music. In every. single. song.", expressed another.
"I HAVE STOOD HERE FOR SO MANY YEARS WAITING FOR THE MORNING SUN BEAMS TO FINALLY WARM ME, BUT IT'S HAPPENING SO SLOWLY IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO NOTICE HOW EVERYTHING AROUND ME IS CHANGING, AFTER ALL THIS TIME", stated a third.
"Just woke up and saw this and now I’m here tearing up while having coffee, for the past years I’ve been trying so hard to be able to become a nurse and it has been a difficult path. I struggled a lot in general and didn’t understand why, until literally yesterday I got some blood test results and realized a health problem it has been stealing my energy without me realizing. It can be cured, I have started treatment and I can’t wait to see the results and feel like myself again, and continue fighting", commented a fourth.
"I don't know how AURORA somehow knows what I'm thinking about and dealing with mentally and then transforms it into a song. It honestly makes me feel less alone. Thank you AURORA! I'm so grateful this song exists.", lauded a fifth.

AURORA will kick off an extended European and UK tour this spring. It also includes a sold-out show at London’s OVO Arena Wembley on May 3, 2025. The What Happened To The Earth? tour will include stops in Stockholm, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Paris, Madrid, and Lisbon.
