Katy Perry sets off on a mission to space alongside Jeff Bezos' wife: Here's what we know

Katy Perry is merely a day away from being launched into space, and she took to Instagram to tease her upcoming flight. The songstress will be aboard Jeff Bezos' company Blue Origin's first all-women flight crew. It will be led by Lauren Sánchez, Bezos' wife-to-be and vice-chairman of his Earth Fund.

In a short animated clip shared on her account, the expedition's logo can be seen against a starry night sky. It also notes details about the NS-31 mission, including its launch on Monday, April 14, at 7 a.m. CT.

“T-minus 3 days to launch for NS-31 @blueorigin,” Perry wrote in the caption, adding the link to the page where everyone can livestream it from their homes.

As reported by Billboard, back when the expedition was announced, Katy Perry penned on Instagram,

“If you had told me that I would be part of the first ever all-female crew in space, I would have believed you … Nothing was beyond my imagination as a child.” She added, “Although we didn’t grow up with much, I never stopped looking at the world with hopeful WONDER! I work hard to live my life that way still, and I am motivated more than ever to be an example for my daughter that women should take up space (pun intended). That’s why this opportunity is so incredible — so that I can show all of the youngest & most vulnerable among us to reach for the stars, literally and figuratively.”

After she makes it back from space, Katy Perry will hit the road for her Lifetime Tour in support of her new album, 143.
