Fans react as Jennie from BLACKPINK makes history with her album 'RUBY,' peaking at No. 10 on the Top 10 of the US Apple Music chart, making it the highest-peaking album by a K-pop soloist in the platform's history.
As soon as the news hit, her fans started pouring in applause on their socials and said that they deeply resonated with Jennie's success and felt that this could be a landmark moment for K-pop's global expansion.

Jennie Breaks A Record
The album, released on March 7, 2025, is a mix of pop, R&B, and hip-hop that shows Jennie's artistic evolution. The album sold 386,000 copies on its first day, making it the second-largest debut for a Korean female solo artist in Hanteo charts, where now, it stands right behind Jisoo's ME.
And we shouldn't forget that she racked up 1.97 billion streams in 2024, solidifying her title as the most-streamed female K-pop soloist of the year. Ruby is just her way of solidifying her claim.
Who Does the Album Feature?
Jennie crafted an album that feels like a global phenomenon. She joined forces with Dua Lipa on Handlebars, teamed up with Doechii for ExtraL, and brought in Dominic Fike for Love Hangover.
By teaming up with Kali Uchis and Childish Gambino on Damn Right and getting FKJ’s signature artistry for Intro: JANE, Jennie solidified her global presence.
With the amazing mix of international artists attached to this project, Jennie just showed the world that she is more than just another K-pop artist and that she can easily stand on her own beside some of the biggest names in the Western music industry.

The 'Ruby Experience' Tour
The Ruby Experience tour is a series of intimate yet highly anticipated shows, and as of now, the 3 locations that have been confirmed are Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, Radio City Music Hall in New York, and Seoul, though the exact location of the latter hasn't yet been revealed.
And with the tour, she is also set to perform at Coachella 2025 on April 13th and 20th, which is very significant for a K-pop soloist.

"This So Huge"
The success of Ruby is not just about charts, numbers, and sales but a testament that K-pop soloists can stand toe-to-toe with the biggest names in the Western music industry and can very well thrive on a global scale.
With BLACKPINK already breaking multiple records, with Ruby, Jennie shows us that she is much more than just a part of the K-pop band.
