"This guy deserves all this."

Kendrick Lamar's record-breaking album run

GNX opened with an impressive 319,000 equivalent album units on November 22, 2024, making it Lamar's fifth consecutive album to top the Billboard 200. The project shrouded in mystery because of its unconventional rollout, has captivated listeners with its deep lyricism, intricate storytelling, and socially conscious themes.

Since then, the Kendrick Lamar album has remained within the top ranks of the Billboard 200, but now, for the third time, it's back at No. 1, making it an achievement that reflects Lamar's power in the industry.

Several factors have led to the continued popularity of GNX.

Kendrick Lamar's performance at the 2025 Super Bowl would be one. Even though GNX wasn't featured in it, it surely brought renewed interest to the album.

Another would be Kendrick Lamar's announcement about the "Grand National Tour," co-headlining with SZA. The tour, set to start later this year, has generated massive anticipation and has led to increased album sales and streams.

And most importantly, GNX continues to resonate with fans because of its thought-provoking themes, touching on issues of race, identity, and inner introspection.
