Kanye West’s public feud with Playboi Carti continues over North’s collaboration with the latter. West has expressed on several occasions in recent times that he would never permit his first child, North West, to get into a collaboration with Carti.
West extended his angst against Carti to his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, as he believed Carti was in communications with her over featuring North, even against his reservations as the father. On March 19, 2025, the Famous rapper took a break from tweeting his thoughts and made a video instead:
“Carti Stupid A**. This Ni**a is stupid bro. It’s like you don’t know when I’m dealing with my kids. This ain’t your niece ni**a. This is my daughter nigga. Don’t f*** with me boi. Don’t f***ing play me with ni**a. You letting these white people use us against each other. You letting these Jews use us against each other ni**a. I put you on ni**a!!!”
Playboi Carti hasn’t responded to West’s latest video about him.
Playboi Carti and Kanye West’s feud on X explored
According to Billboard, the issues between the rappers began when Kim Kardashian posted a SKIMS shout/out on Music to her IG Stories, and Playboi Carti replied by asking his “niece,” North, to send some vocal samples for a possible collaboration in the future. Kanye West, who has been making contentious statements on X since February 2025, took to his platform to air his frustrations:
“I DECIDED NORTH WONT BE DOING ANY SONGS WITH CARTI HOW IT LOOK FOR ME TO GET LEFT OFF THE ALBUM AND THEN HE ASK KIM TO HAVE VOCALS FROM MY DAUGHTER,”
He added:
"I DONT A F–K ABOUT NONE OF THIS INDUSTRY S–T AND HOW ITS A SKIMS LINE IN THE FIRST PLACE, AND I DONT GIVE A F–K WHAT NO COMMENTS THE MAN HAS THE FIRST AND FINAL SAY OVER HIS KIDS."
The rapper later made some tweets on X, as though from Carti’s POV:
"HEY, NORTH, YOUR DAD GAVE ME MY BIGGEST SONG AND CO-SIGN, AND I LEFT HIM OFF OF MY ALBUM BECAUSE OF HIS TWEETS. OH, BUT NORTH YOU MY NIECE I GOTTA USE YOUR VOCALS.”
The controversial rapper added some hours later:
“I HELD MY TONGUE ABOUT MOT*** BEING ON CARTI ALBUM HIM GOING TO MY EX TO ASK MY DAUGHTER TO BE ON A SONG 2 DAYS LATER WAS TOO FAR NOBODY FINNA PLAY WITH ME.”
Kanye West referred to Carti’s son with Iggy Azalea, Onyx, asking if his parents would be comfortable with Ye having him on his upcoming projects. Azalea quickly responded to Kanye, begging him to leave her son out of the drama:
"Ye, I understand the point you want to make. I say this with kindness & as a mother: Please, leave my child out of this.”
