Describing three people—50 Cent, Drake, and Demna—as among his favorite rappers and personalities, Kanye West remarked on X (formerly Twitter) on April 27, 2025:

"They all are their own kings in their own kingdoms."

From fashion designers to musical rivals, this off-the-cuff remark follows Ye's trend of publicly acknowledging and praising peers. Using words like "kings" and "kingdoms," Kanye West conveyed great respect for each person's creative talents, business acumen, and cultural impact, giving them a sense of superiority within their sphere of influence.

Kanye West has posted a list of his preferred people and artists. 50 Cent aka Curtis James Jackson III is at the top of the list. He has established himself as a multi-faceted performer through acting, rapping, and his media presence. His 2003 debut album Get Rich or Die Tryin' topped the Billboard 200 with global hits like "In da Club," which has been a party anthem for more than a decade.

Originally from South Jamaica, Queens, he lived through a bullet that almost killed him in 2000. Apart from being a great artist, 50 Cent founded G-Unit Records.

Next up is Canadian, Aubrey Drake Graham, aka Drake. Since his 2010 debut, Thank Me Later, Drake has been altering mainstream rap and shattering streaming records. He holds the record for most singles by a solo artist on the Billboard Hot 100.

Demna Gvasalia, or "Demna," has been the creative director of Gucci since March 2025. The Georgian became famous following his work for Balenciaga and Vetements. Vetements was co-founded by him, and challenged the established order in high fashion. He was a student of fashion in Antwerp, Belgium.

Appointed design head of Balenciaga in 2015, Demna incorporated streetwear elements into couture and worked with Ye in 2022 on a "Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga" collection.

Kanye West calling them "kings" is his way of praising their independence, inventiveness, and leadership. Whether it's G-Unit fans, Drake's streaming audience, or the fashion industry elite, each one has become an expert, transformed their particular company, and built a passionate following. Ye's tweet thus shows appreciation for mastery—musical, business, and sartorial, and a desire to fit himself among innovators who "rule" their areas.

With an impromptu tribute, calling 50 Cent, Drake, and Demna "kings in their kingdoms," Kanye West demonstrated his appreciation for powerful people in rap and design. Every individual has created a distinctive empire.
