Kali Uchis surprised her fans with the unexpected release of “ILYSMIH,” her new single. The emotional touch most people recognized came from the song’s sentimental lyrics.

However, what most fans did not expect was the shocking laugh that drove people to both emotional and rational responses. Many of her fans had no clue that she was dating anyone, let alone that she was in a committed relationship and had a child, as the phrase “they have a child together” soon began to be the norm across different sites on the internet.

The soft laugh of her and Don Toliver’s child can be heard at the end of the song, sparking wonderful reactions from listeners.

This new Kali Uchis release ILYSIMH comes from her new album Sincerely which is set to drop on 9th May. Per Uchis, “ILIYSIMH” reflects the changes, and new world experiences she’s been through recently. The song was written soon after her son was born in March and the ability to hide something so intimate within something as public as a song made it so much more powerful.
