Katy Perry was The One That Got Away as she floated in a capsule in space with five other amazing women. Katy was joined by astronaut Amanda Nguyen, TV personality Gayle King, aerospace engineer Aisha Bowe, producer Kerianne Flynn, and journalist Lauren Sánchez.
These six women started the remarkable journey from West Texas inside the Blue Origin capsule on April 14, 2025. According to a BBC report, Katy Perry and crew traveled over 100 kilometres above Earth, and the mission concluded at around 11 minutes. They experienced weightlessness briefly after crossing the kármán line.
Following this once-in-a-lifetime experience, the Roar singer expressed her feelings and journey of floating upside down in an Instagram video and shared,
"Still processing this incredible journey ✨ Thank you @blueorigin and to my space sisters, taking up space AND making room in space for all - 143"

According to a People Magazine report, the recent space mission was the all-female expedition of Blue Origin in the New Shepard rocket. Traveling to the edge of space and returning to Earth was a surreal experience.
Getting to see the moon from up close and witness nature's magical and enchanting aura from so close was indeed unforgettable. Katy Perry shared a glimpse of the tour and wrote,
"One day when you’re older, will YOU still look up in wonder?"
Taking this opportunity, Perry also dropped a hint of her upcoming tour. She penned,
"See you on tour (when I come down, figuratively)"

On this exciting yet terrifying journey to the edge of space, Katy Perry performed the iconic What a Wonderful World song by Louis Armstrong.
The rocket took off from the launch site after 08:30 local time. After floating in space and exploring around, the capsule made its much-awaited comeback to Earth. It made a soft landing with a parachute.
Katy disembarked from it and knelt on the ground. The Never Really Over singer carried a small daisy flower on this mission for her daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom. While coming out of the capsule, she lifted the flower and exited.
As per People Magazine, Perry shared,
"This experience is second to being a mom. That's why it was hard for me to go because that's all my love right there, and I have to surrender and trust that the universe is going to take care of me and protect me and also my family and daughter."
While speaking with the reporters about this thrilling expedition, the Not Like the Movies singer further continued,
"I am full up from being able to get that gift of being a mom, and to go to space is incredible, and I wanted to model courage, worthiness and fearlessness."
Her 4-year-old daughter waited and watched her mother fly to space. Katy Perry's fiancé, Orlando Bloom, was also present at the site while she was gearing up for this adventure.
