British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran is back with new music, and fans could not be more excited. Nearly two years after releasing Autumn Variations, the singer has officially announced that his next album is complete and a new single, Azizam, is on the way, The Hollywood Reporter reveals.

The singer shared the news on Instagram on March 19, 2025. He posted a video of himself dancing along to the song in a recording studio with producer Ilya Salmanzadeh. However, he did not reveal a release date for the single or the album.

His Instagram post read:

"Album done. Single soon. I’m very excited as you can tell."

The announcement has sent fans into a frenzy as they are buzzing over the preview of Azizam. The title reportedly means 'my dear' in Persian. It could potentially hint at a possible cultural connection in the upcoming track's theme.

Fans were quick to gather in the comment section of the Instagram teaser video as they shared their excitement. Below are what some of them had to remark:

"LET'S GO ED 🔥🔥 SOUNDS INSANE", declared one fan.
"AZIZAM!!!! Ahhh so hyped!!!! Loving all the hints this week!!!", hyped another.

This teaser comes as Ed Sheeran continues his Mathematics Tour, which has taken him across Asia in 2025 and is set to wrap up in September 2025.

Ed Sheeran's debut album was '+' (Plus)

It was released in 2011 and featured tracks like The A Team and Lego House. Over the years, he has dropped multiple chart-topping albums, such as x (Multiply), ÷ (Divide), = (Equals), and - (Subtract).

After closing out his mathematics-themed album series in 2023 with Subtract, Ed Sheeran went on with Autumn Variations, which is a more personal and indie-inspired project, fans believe.

Now, fans await his eighth studio album.
